| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | FEBRUARY 2019 | 3 From the President's Desk By Sandra Moyer Now that the holidays and parties have ended, we are back into our normal routine. January was a cold and wet month. Please be sure to turn off your sprinklers when we have days of rain fall. We need to continue to be vigilant on water use. The meet and greet with FirstService Residential (FSR) was well attended. The first session was a bit overwhelming due to half of attendees (300) did not RSVP. FSR did a fantastic job of compensating for the situation. They added an additional five people to help you sign up for your choice of payment of HOA dues. The residents were happy to see so many of FSR employees there, including the President of the company as well as the Executive VP, our Regional Director and many more and as you know all enjoyed the appetizers and drinks they provided. We ask that you be patient with our Administrative Staff as they are going thru this transition. There will be days of training for them to learn the systems and IT products of FSR. I also wanted to inform you that FSR retained 93 percent of our staff. I feel that is a great testimony to the professionalism and acceptance of FSR company. Elections for the Master Board will be in April. The Election Schedule is as follows: Candidacy Forms may be picked up in the Administration Office starting Feb. 4. They must be completed and returned to the Administration Office by 5 pm on Feb. 22. Residents will be voting for two positions. The two Board Members whose term is up is Dan Comerford and Linda Spaulding. For the new residents, the two incumbents may run for another term. Here are the requirements to be able to run for the Board: 1. Must be a homeowner in good standing. 2. No felony records. 3. Must be at least 55 years old. 4. Have lived in Sun Lakes for at least two years. Board Goals for 2019: These are not all of them but ones of high priority. Our goals will ebb and flow as the year progresses. 1.) New Management Transition. 2.) Policy to address the Board of Equalization for the future. 3.) Implementing a Vendor Program 4.). Completing the replacement of irrigation lines on hole 14, 15, and 16 of the Championship course. 5.) Finalize traffic speed and stop sign violations.
