Makua Hula Hawaiian Dancers had fun entertaining and provided a special table with photos of past shows showing costumes and dancers. Perla Williams, Instructor, and some ladies of Makua Hula recently returned from their trip meeting with our Kumo (teacher) Iolana Kaimikau, in Hawaii. Our dancers practiced four hours a day and have many new dances to share with us. Makua Hula Dancers are invited to perform at "That's Entertainment" at the Main Clubhouse coming Feb. 28, March 1, 2 and 3. Mark your calendars! We hope to see you then. As always, we invite you to come and dance with us… great exercise and it's FREE! We meet Wednesdays at the North Clubhouse, from 10 am to 12 noon and on Saturdays at the Main Clubhouse, from 8 to 10 am. Makua Hula Dinner Dance Club Isn't it time you took your special Valentine out for a nice evening? Well, join us for our Dinner Dance in February to celebrate the holiday. The dance will be held on Sat., Feb. 16 and One-2-Many will provide the evening's entertainment. Suggested dress this month is formal, but it's always fun to get a little dressed up to celebrate something special. What's more special than Valentine's Day? Doors will open at 5:30 pm and dinner will be served at 6 pm. We will start the evening with a Caesar salad with both ranch and Caesar dressings accompanied by rolls and butter. Entrée selections for the evening are as follows: 1) Grilled salmon with lemon dill sauce $28; 2) 5 oz top sirloin steak with Béarnaise sauce, $27.50. Both entrées are accompanied by a baked potato and seasonal vegetables. 3) Vegetarian option is rigatoni primavera with tomatoes/carrots, etc. topped with Parmesan cheese $23.50. Delicious chocolate cheesecake will top off the meal. Sign-ups are from Feb. 1 to Feb. 7 and can be dropped in the box on the gate at 782 Torrey Pines Rd. along with your sign-up sheet. Be sure to include your meal and table preference on the form you can access on the Sun Lakes website, and please get your sign-ups in on time. As usual, if you sign up and find you are unable to attend, please call Carla at (951) 797-3506 before 3 pm on the day of the dance to arrange for pick up of your meal to enjoy at home. Bring your sweetie for an evening of great fun and good food, and come early so you can visit with friends before dinner. See you on Feb 16.
