12 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | FEBRUARY 2019 | What! February's message for the Herald is due already and I'm still thinking about New Year's Eve! Well I need to speak of it anyway. The evening started with Dave Habig, our local professional photographer, snapping each couple's photo while wife Bev did the paperwork. Thank you both by the way! We passed between two very large, but happy snowmen (made of tumbleweeds) to enter the Ballroom which was decked out in all its glitz, glamour and glory, thanks to Margie Culton, her sister Patti and their outstanding committee. The two lovely and talented as well as "dueling violinist" awed us for an hour, receiving a standing ovation of appreciation. Next, our Caesar salads arrived, followed closely by ones choice of prime rib, steak and shrimp or salmon prepared by our king of the kitchen, Chef Francisco. Our thanks to the wait staff and all those in the kitchen for giving up your night out to be at Four Seasons to serve us. Dessert of sinful layered chocolate cake was available; darn it, I missed out on that but that's another story. The dance band was great and much appreciated especially by those that stayed on. What a way to close out the year! The December drawing for two free Sunday brunches finally happened on Jan. 2 when Denise Martinez, who is staying with me for a few weeks pulled a ticket. The ticket she pulled was the name Diane Maccarrone, so congratulations Diane. Reservations are coming in for 2019, book early to secure your preferred date. We make a difference. Our CERT Street Captains have 20 hours training in light search and rescue, fire suppression, disaster medical operations, and first aid. They practice their skills in simulated disasters regularly. On the other hand, our CERT Auxiliaries are disaster-day only untrained volunteers. When disaster strikes, they agree to respond to a text message or report to a predesignated area and work under the guidance of our Street Captains. At Four Seasons, we are fortunate to have many activities. You can join the tennis club, the bridge club, or play Bingo ; however, only by joining CERT can you make a difference in the survival of your household, neighbors, and fellow residents of Four Seasons. Come make a difference. Become a Street Captain or Auxiliary. Facilities Committee Hello friends and neighbors. February is here already. Time really flies, and with time we can see the effects on our 13-14 year old streets, buildings, fences, and infrastructure in general. The committee is always busy trying to keep these up to Four Seasons' high standards. The committee is looking foward to the new year and the many projects that are planned. The slurry project is in inspection stages. We are inspecting it all and have come up with a list of areas that need to be addressed by the contractor. Here are some of the projects the committee is looking into for 2019: Replacing the shade structures at the bocce and shuffleboard courts with alumawood; we are looking into putting more lighting along Four Seasons in front of the East Legends. The committee is also looking into the possibility of placing a cell tower to help relieve the poor cell reception in certain areas of our community. We are also keeping an eye on the Ballroom carpet and dance floor. These are a few of many projects, big and small, that the committee is working on. Remember, this is your community and if you see anything that needs to be checked out, repaired or painted, please let us know by telling the front desk or fill out a maintenance form. Have a safe and happy New Year.
