| OHCC LIVING | FEBRUARY 2019 | 21 Theatre Arts Thank you all for coming by and signing up on Do Dues Day. 2019 is off to a great start! Our Jan. 7, meeting was a huge success! Bradley Leighton's performance was very well received not only by the Theatre Arts Club members, but by the OHCC residents who attended, as well. Space might still be available for the Actors' Workshop, which meets in the Mens' Club Room on Mondays from 1 to 3 pm. The class is limited to 22 participants. Please contact Sally Benton (moki2@ cox.net) to see if space remains. Senior Moments, our improv troupe, is looking forward to presenting many more performances in the New Year. Stay tuned for performance announcements. If you are interested in exhibiting your improvisational skills and honing them to a sharp point, consider auditioning for our troupe. Contact Michael Gordon for more information (mlgordon2@gmail.com). Cathy King advises that we are in desperate need of volunteers to learn the AV system soundboard in order for us to be self-sufficient -- especially for our monthly meetings. Classes are held second Wednesday of the month in Abravanel Hall. Please come to the next training on Feb. 13, from 4 to 6 pm. On Feb. 4, at 7 pm, in Abravanel Hall, accompanied by talented musicians, Lakshmi "La Chimi" Basile will return to OHCC where she will take the stage and perform her astounding flamenco moves. Sorry, this exciting program is open to Theatre Arts' members only. Sally Benton and Anita Simon, co-chairs of Readers' Theatre, announce that the group is working on its next project. Come to the next meeting in the Mens' Club Room on Feb. 6, at 1 pm for details. March 4, the Clan Rince Irish Dancers return to Ocean Hills! Keep your eyes and ears open for details. Theatre Arts' members are currently in rehearsal for our April 26 - 27 performances of A Thurber Carnival. The cast consists of 25 of our friends and neighbors, and promises to be an exciting event, with several surprises! Our monthly meetings always have live entertainment. Please join us at 7 pm on the first Monday of each month in Abravanel Hall to find out what everyone else is talking about and see how much bang you get for your $10 annual dues. You can join Theatre Arts and participate in all of our entertainment and activities. Annual dues are only $10 per person, and are good through the end of 2019. You can always leave your check in our envelope at the front desk. Do not forget to follow our activities online at http://www.ohccdg.wixsite.com/theatrearts.
