For many people who have pets, making travel arrangements can
be difficult. You might have to find temporary homes for your pets or
consider the cost of putting them in a kennel. With RVing, one of the
great benefits is that you can satisfy your need for travel and bring
along your furry friends. Here are a few tips for RVing with pets.
Make sure your animal's tags are current with your cell phone (not
home phone), and make sure your campground allows pets. Have
a packing list of all the things your pet will need. In addition, have
your pet's vaccinations up to date and have them treated for fleas and
ticks. Read and follow campground rules about pets. If your trip is
for an extended time or in a remote area, make sure, you have enough
food for your pet.
At the end of December, RV Club members traveled to attend the
Tournament of Roses Parade. They stayed in the Santa Anita Park
in Arcadia, and were bused to Pasadena to see and participate in a
float construction, tour and dine at the San Antonio Winery, enjoy
the horse races at Santa Anita Park, and celebrate New Year's Eve. In
addition, the group toured the Huntington Library in San Marino.
Thanks to the SOI RV Club, which is a national organization, for
organizing this fantastic trip.
The next RV Club membership meeting will be on Tues., Feb. 26,
in Abravanel Hall. Social time starts at 7 pm, and business meeting
starts at 7:30 pm.
