6 SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | FEBRUARY 2019 By Sherrie Chaparro, Resident Our new Code Compliance/Architectural Administrator is Tona Ott. Along with the standard code compliance activities with which you are probably familiar, she will also be working with the DRC (one of our most overworked and underappreciated committees) on the application process. Growing up in the Lake Havasu City area in Arizona, Tona returned to Redlands, her birthplace, to be closer to family. She currently lives in Beaumont, and when she's not working, Tona keeps busy looking after twin six-year-old daughters Rhyann and Ryleigh, as well as Pisston, a 17-year-old fox terrier. Tona claims he was named after her dad who was a mechanic but admitted that as a puppy Pisston did have some issues. Hobbies include playing basketball with her nephew and hiking with her daughters, especially in Idyllwild. She enjoys country and alternative music concerts, as well as comedy concerts. Tona also loves taking photographs, and runs a side business (Photonic Creations), taking professional portraits of children, families, weddings and large parties. She graduated college with a major in ASL (American Sign Language), and while she was still living in Arizona worked for a state agency interpreting for the deaf. After finishing college, Tona worked with Inland Empire Health Plan which provides health plans for low income families. She also worked for the Banning Chamber of Commerce and Davita Healthcare in one of their dialysis facilities. After joining PCM more than two years ago, Tona worked with both Heather and Richard at Sun Lakes, and is happy to be working with them again. As you can see from Tona's work history, she has a strong background in the helping professions. This probably explains her attitude toward her current position, which she sees as helping residents comply with the guidelines we have all agreed to. If you see Tona around the Clubhouse, give her a wave. Or better yet, ask her to teach you how to sign "Hello, good to see you." Introducing Tona Ott
