| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MARCH 2019 | 27 For many of us who love music we usually feel pretty confident when it comes to knowing the lyrics to the songs we really like. What often perplexes people is when someone speaks a lyric from a very popular song, and then suddenly you realize you can't pin down the name of the song nor the next lyric. Lyrics without music can be a real challenge, so let's put this to the test. I've listed 10 song lyrics from some very popular songs of the 40s through 70s. Let's see how you do. Try and name the song and next line from the lyrics on this list. Good luck! 1. I was at a dance when he caught my eye. 2. Dinner in a diner nothing could be finer. 3. Every place I go I'll think of you every song I sing I'll sing for you. 4. I wake up in the morning and I wonder why everything's the same as it was. 5. Well I was standing on the corner in Winslow Arizona. 6. Oh Lord won't you tell why I love that fella so. 7. Nothing else for me to say and so I'll close but by the way. 8. And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy. 9. One night a wild young cowboy came in. 10. I went for some candy along came Jim Dandy and So there you have it. Join us at Sun Lake's own Goodtimes Karaoke with Rosie Ingall, Barb Miller & D.J. Blast. You need not worry about picking a song to sing. Led by Director Mark Faber, our members practice singing at Monday morning rehearsals, 9:30 am to 12:15 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom, and at shorter individual section practices on Thursdays in the Bus Room. Ticket sales begin next month, so mark your calendars and don't miss our show!
