| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MARCH 2019 | 3 From the President's Desk By Sandra Moyer Well, I think we are fulfilling the old saying "in like a lion and out like a lamb." We definitely are having a good wet and cold winter and hopefully April will be a beautiful mild temperature spring. We are into our third month of management transition and I believe systems are falling into place. I was informed by department head directors that when you call FirstService Residential's call center help line, your question or concern goes immediately to their computers; therefore, if it is an issue they can resolve, it can be handled in a timely manner. This is a new feature from FSR and well received. Update on some of 2019 goals of the Board. One was Board of Equalization. The Board will be addressing the Food & Beverage issues raised by the BOE. This includes working on standardization of pours/portions/pricing that meet the state's requirements and the needs of our community. One example that the Board implemented was the ID cards in 2017. This procedure met the state's requirements that Sun Lakes served members, or guests of members and was not open to the public. Though it added a process for the member, it satisfied the state. Rental cap/prohibition put into place: This will have been discussed at February open meeting. The Board asked legal to draw up an amendment to our Declaration of Covenants Article XVIII-A. If this is approved at the February open session, it will be on the April ballot. It will be posted on the website and hard copies will be made available. I ask that all read it and be informed before you vote. We are continuing to meet with the design firm regarding updating the Main Clubhouse and Restaurant and Lounge. You will be given an opportunity to offer input when we get to that point. The Board is also working with legal on a vendor program and again I will keep you updated. As you can see, the Board is back to work. I encourage you to come to our open sessions (the fourth Wednesday of the month) as many important issues are addressed and your input is desired. Irish Blessing: May your day be touched by a bit of Irish luck, brightened by a song in your heart, and warmed by the smiles of the people you love. The Sun Lakes Country Club Homeowners Association Annual Meeting of the Membership will be held on April 10. There will be two open positions on the Board of Directors. Each newly elected director will serve a two-year term. Two "Meet the Candidates" forums will be conducted in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Members will be given the opportunity to ask questions to the candidates running for the Board. The first forum will be held on Mon., March 11 at 6 pm and the second will be Tues., March 12 at 10 am. The Member of Record Date was Mon., Feb. 18 and ballots will be mailed to each homeowner on Mon., March 11, 2019. 2019 Annual Meeting of the Membership and Election of Directors
