14 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | March 2019 | Access Control Committee As part of the continuing update of our gate access control system, we are now focusing our attention on the Front Gate. Over the years there have been many very near misses when resident vehicles, for whatever reason, fail to recognize visitors leaving the gate house area in order to enter the Main Gate, or vice versa. The Access Control committee has been conducting research over the last year to establish a more secure method for residents and visitors alike to make their entry procedures safer. Many suggestions have been put forward, including an open/close "barrier" at the visitor/gatehouse side by installing a guest lane gate arm, and also to adding a resident lane camera. This will allow the on-duty guard to be able to see more clearly down the resident lane before raising the gate arm to allow a visitor to make his entry to the Main Gate. At the same time as the guard raises the gate arm for the visitor, it will close the barrier arm for the resident lane. Once the visitor is clear, the resident will open automatically and to allow the resident to continue on to the RFID reader. We trust this procedure will help to create awareness for both our residents and visitors alike, to help reduce collisions and gate arm strikes, and to help make these access points safer for all of our community. The Access Control committee will provide a recommendation to the Board once their research is complete. Facilities Committee The Facility Committee would like to inform our residents that they are back in full swing to evaluate new projects outlined for this new year. We have our committee at full capacity with 13 total members and one Board member to help make difficult decisions and guide the committee to always think about the best interest of our residents. We also have two management experts that give us insight as to what funds our available, and do they fall within the guidelines of our CC&R rules, and does it help to improve our community. Here are a few projects that we will consider and evaluate for this year's calendar. The Committee will evaluate our Ballroom to see if new carpet is needed, and do we need other things such as painting, furniture, general maintenance, light bulbs replaced. For our residents that use the pool area, do we need to replace all cushions for our lounge chairs, and pool equipment to keep the pool safe, clean, and heated. The committee will also evaluate our sport courts for Bocce and Shuffleboard to see if the shade structures need attention. Hidden things that you as a resident don't see but would notice if they were not working would be the water heaters for reliability, do they need to be replaced, and do we need plumbing repairs to fix leaky faucets, leaky pipes, or broken water fixtures in the bathrooms. These are just a few things that the committee will research and recommend to our Board members for consideration. Our goal is to continue to make our residents proud of their community. If you would like to help this committee, we always invite you to voice your opinion at one of our business meetings. The Committee members meet on the first and third Wednesday of each month.
