In 2001 I retired from a 35-year career in the electrical industry. After retirement, we started wintering in Hemet. About four years ago we decided to move to California permanently. At that time, we moved into Four Seasons, and really enjoy living here. Ever since high school I have enjoyed sketching and drawing. Five or six years ago, I was introduced to painting, and really liked it. When we moved to Four Seasons, I began taking painting classes and have displayed several paintings here in the Lodge and also at Diamond Valley Art Center. For a change of pace, I do some wood carving as well. PEGGY COOPER I have been living here for about three years. My husband Steve and I have been very happy here. The arts have always interested me, but I had the idea that I couldn't draw or paint myself. I thought I would see if I could learn by joining Lois Stipp's class and have been pleasantly surprised that I was able to do so. So far I have completed five paintings and have many more planned. I am a native San Diegan where I worked as civilian for the navy in Point Loma and retired in 2007. ESTHER FEIGENBAUM Esther Feigenbaum's artistic life is a palette of many colors. The baby grand piano in her home is a symbol of her love of classical music, which she studied in her youth. During her working career as a restaurateur, teacher and attorney, she found time for oil painting. Since living in Four Seasons, she has branched out into charcoal, water colors and acting. Her art may be characterized by the pursuit of perfection. Creating a landscape, a portrait or a role in a play is a deliberate thoughtful process. She says, "Art provides the ability to apply your ideas and feelings, to be in the medium and to be one with the medium. Art lets me reveal who I am. I'm forever surprised at what appears."
