58 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2019 | Friends we will miss Coach Ray Baker passed away February 15, 2019 in Loma Linda. He was born in Brawley, CA on April 10, 1955. Ray loved sports and he followed his love into teaching and coaching. Ray met, fell in love with, and married Denise. They were married for 35 years. Together, Ray and Denise had two sons, Keith and Cameron, and one grandson, Tyler (which many Sun Lakers came to know). Coach cared deeply about his relationships and as best he could, he made each of them personal. No matter how you knew Coach, you were convinced that he had your best interest at heart. Coach was simply the life of the party. Coach loved to fish and attended an annual fishing/camping outing near Mammoth with a group of friends that grew to nearly 200 men. Coach was funny and liked to laugh. Being the center of attention was where he was most comfortable. When the Sun Lakes outdoor pool would open, Coach would be there nearly every day meeting new friends. After moving to Sun Lakes, he involved himself in many activities (Bocce, 8 ball group, Golf and helped the Christian Women Breakfast group with their sound system). He was always telling stories of the exploits of his football and baseball teams or letting you know how delicious his smoked meats were, especially the pulled pork or prime rib and would make this for family and friends to eat at Music Under The Stars. As loud as Coach could be, he had a quiet and profound faith in his God. He loved John 3:16, To trust God with everything and lean not on one's understanding is pivotal in becoming a child of God and one whose future is never in doubt. On February 15, God whispered into Ray's ear, "Well done, good and faithful servant: enter into the joy of your Lord." David Greenberg, a resident on Warwick Hills Way, passed away on February 28, 2019. We have lost a neighbor who was proud of our community. He appreciated the friendships and support garnered during his over five years here. His wife remains a wonderful part of our community and he is also survived by his sister, son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. He was only 72 at the time of his passing. David's life was one of kindness, empathy, and optimism. Even as a mischievous child in Brooklyn, New York, he was a proud Boy Scout and did well in school. After turning 18, he was drafted into the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Just 10 years after an honorable discharge, he returned to military life in the U.S. Air Force reserve. His service in the Armed Forces remained one of the proudest achievements in his life and he was laid to rest with full military honors at Riverside National Cemetery on March 5. David's professional life was defined by dedication and success. He worked in television at CBS for a brief time before turning to the world of finance and international commercial debt collection. To this day, he remains the only person in his industry to be recognized by a U.S. President and receive the prestigious E-Star Award. Through his career, he made contacts around the world and developed strong bonds of friendship, brotherhood, and compassion in nearly every country on Earth. As seen on his Facebook page, David's passing received condolences from around the world. As a strong believer in community service, David found many ways to give back. He helped launch a synagogue in Moreno Valley, was an active adult leader in multiple Boy Scouts troops (his son attained the Eagle Scout rank with a religious medal), supported many charities, and was an involved constituent on the local, state, and national level. For 10 years, David fought against multiple cancers and COPD. He maintained a strong positivity and was always ready with a good joke and bright smile. He reveled in the love of his wife, success of his son, and the achievements of his young grandson. His funeral was filled with hilarious stories and poignant life lessons. David's life was carried out with purpose. He lived and died on his terms with intent. Yet his favorite hobby was fishing, with all the peace and serenity it afforded for contemplation and quiet discourse. David Greenberg lived with three strong passions: his family, his Judaism, and his military service. Those remained with him until death and made the world a better place for all. William Leslie Reinmuth, 77, from Banning, California, gently passed at his home on February 18, 2019. Willie carried himself with incredible courage and dignity through recurrences of a relentless illness. He was born in Montevideo, Minnesota, January 1, 1942. He graduated from his hometown high school in Appleton, Minnesota in 1960. He was married to his high school sweetheart Sharon Sandven in 1962. Willie earned his Bachelor degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead and his Master degree in Special Education from California State University Fullerton. He retired after a 35-year teaching career at Hacienda La Puente Unified School District and moved to Sun Lakes in 2003 with his wife Sharon. Willie's passions included a consistent and smooth swing on the golf course, sailing on the Pacific and the thrill of speed, lift and serenity flying with his co-pilot Sharon. Summers spent in Alaska including family, friends and FISH were enjoyed and shared for over 30 years. Willie was pre-deceased by his parents Leslie William Reinmuth and Francis Bergman Reinmuth and by his niece Brenda Peterson. He is survived by his wife Sharon; son Mark Reinmuth (Kelli); daughter Kristen Reinmuth; and sister Helen Bittman (Tom); grandchildren Leslie Reinmuth Delwiche (Wally); Lindsey Reinmuth; Eric Marty and Tim Marty. Blessed be his memory.
