| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2019 | 59 Friends we will miss Sally Sandlian passed away on January 31, 2019. Sally loved fashion and beauty, interior decorating and music. She was extremely musical and played piano by ear. She was known for her great sense of style and her infectious laugh. Sarah Ann Sandlian was born in Los Angeles, California to George and Elizabeth (Lottie) Watson on October 14, 1925. Everyone called her Sally. Sally was raised in Pasadena and went to college in Oregon. In 1954 she married Bobby Jones and had two daughters, Julie and Janet. She raised her family in Laguna Beach, Newport Beach and Ventura before moving to Sun Lakes in 1993. She loved the Friendship Club and all her wonderful friends. In Sun Lakes she met and married the love of her life, Darrell Sandlian. Darrell had been a Commander in the U.S. Navy and they loved to dance and go to concerts. Darrell passed away two years ago. Sally is survived by her daughter, Julie, and her husband Dean Parks; her daughter Janet, and her husband Don Feith; and her granddaughter, Nicole. Sally was beautiful, kind, sweet and fun. She had a happy childhood, an adoring husband, loving children and a wonderful life. She will be greatly missed by all. Joyce White passed away on March 3, 2019. She was born in Long Beach, California on May 2, 1937. After several jobs over the years, she went to work for State Farm Insurance in 1964. She started as a file clerk and advanced to Claims Supervisor after 35 years before retiring. She moved to Sun Lakes in 1992. She was very active in community activities having served on many advisory committees such as the Restaurant and Lounge Advisory Committee and the Recreation Committee. She worked on several Charity Week events and on the 25th Anniversary Committee. She helped build and enjoy her house in Baja California with her significant other, Richard Paul. They spent many wonderful times at the house on the beach. She and Richard were able to spend 35 wonderful years together. She is survived by her brother, Fred Crissinger, her daughter, Michaele Anderson and her husband Dan. She had two grandchildren: Danielle Leland and Jon Anderson. She had two great-grandsons: Cruz Leland and Fenix Leland. Joyce led a very fulfilled life, touching many lives. She will be missed.
