32 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2019 | Wishing each and everyone of you a Happy Easter! Our next meeting and support group will be Thurs., April 18, and Mon., April 22. Both meetings will be at 10am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. There will be NO PATIENT CARE in the Arts and Craft Room during the Monday meeting and support group. We will continue to offer Patient Care at all the Thursday meetings. There is no guest speaker this month. This will give you more time for the support group. You are invited to attend as many meetings each month as you can fit into your schedule. The Memory Care Group is a SUPPORT GROUP FOR ALL CAREGIVERS. You do not have to be caring for someone with Alzheimer's or Dementia. You can be a caregiver to someone with any type of disease. This group started out as a group for Alzheimer's support, but we realize there are so many caregivers here in Sun Lakes caring for people with so many different diseases that we want to be here for all of you. We have a wonderful program for the patients in the Arts and Craft Room. Ed Avina will once again be entertaining this group. We have fun! We sing, dance and just enjoy listening to songs from the past years. So drop your loved one off at the Arts and Craft Room on your way to the meeting. We are a group of loving caregivers. We enjoy caring for your loved one so you can go to the meeting and not worry about them. Memory Care Group For our February gathering we had a last minute scheduling conflict and were very fortunate to have Sheila and Larry James of Jamestown come entertain us with little to no notice at all. What an incredible back up plan to have such talented people bail us out very last minute! Thank you Sheila and Larry! They sing such a wide variety of music that everybody was happy. We had Larry singles, Sheila singles and some beautiful duets – it was a Valentine's Day celebration, after all. Some songs included were It's a Wonderful Life, Larry's Can't Take My Eyes Off You, Sheila's Over The Rainbow. They sang the duets of Unforgettable (my personal favorite that they sing) and You Don't Bring Me Flowers Anymore and Sheila sang a beautiful version of Patsy Cline's She's Got You. We cannot thank you enough Larry and Sheila – you are both amazing and appreciated. In April, we will have some of the members of the international dance groups. The three dance troupes represented are the Philippino, the Asian and the Folkloric. Come join us or visit to see if you'd like to join us. You can attend one month without being a member to see if you'd like to join. We think it'll be worth your while and you'll have a good time. We've got a bigger crowd now that we're back in the South Clubhouse. Just be sure and let us know by the fifth of the month for a reservation for our head count for the caterer. We meet at 3 pm in the South Clubhouse (unless otherwise noted) on the third Saturday of each month. Get your reservations in by the fifth of the month to Donna Harrington at (909) 561-5066, 5393 Riviera for your reservations for the necessary head count. Our dinners are almost always $11. We also receive an occasional meal free to the members. Spouses and caregivers are welcome to attend as well. Many members bring along their visiting children or other out of town visiting guests.
