| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | April 2019 | 33 Lodge Gallery Wall & Cabinet - The Annual Student Show - March and April. This is the sixth year we have displayed the art work of our Four Seasons residents that have taken an art class. Some of the artists are regular class attendees and others have just started. All of the artists have done a great job and we thank them all for sharing their work with us. Art classes continue in the art room. It is never to late to join in a class. Sign-up sheets for art classes are in the ART & Craft Room, except for the Card Class, please call the instructors number below. Royce Jerman is the instructor of Painting Pals. We have been painting together almost 10 years! We meet every Tuesday from 10 am to 1 pm. Come in and check out the painters' progress. Beading Buddies has been together almost nine years! We meet Wednesdays from 10 am to 1 pm. Drop by anytime and see what we're making now. Lois Stipp is the instructor of the Drawing and Painting classes. On Mondays, we focus on drawing and Thursdays on painting. Lois will teach a few more weeks, then classes resume in the fall. Greeting Card Classes are taught by Kathy Anderson. Kathy starts her two classes, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, this April. Classes are the second Friday of the month from 10 am to noon and the fourth Thursday of the month from 1 to 3 pm. Class cost is $14. To sign up, call Kathy at (951) 599-4039. In March, we were lucky enough to have Bill Mucklow (pictured left) share his talents. Bill did a demonstration with 20+ enthusiastic artists on the subject of acrylic pours. He did four different types of pours, introducing three new techniques with this fun and interesting medium. We look forward to more opportunities with Bill and his art. Thank you, Bill. ~ Nancy Hawkins A R T Group Featured Artist: Dennis Bovee Featured Artist: Margo Dennis About eight years ago I decided to take a painting class. I never painted before and didn't know if I had any talent or liking for it. Much to my surprise, I really enjoyed it and have been taking classes ever since. I enjoy the challenge and the new techniques I am learning. Thanks to my wonder teacher Royce, and the fun I have with fellow students in the class, I plan on taking painting classes as long as they are offered. After moving from my home state of Maryland in 1988, my husband and I lived in Hayward, Thousand Oaks, and Corona, CA. We moved to Four Seasons in 2005 and I have been happily involved in several activities and committees offered here, including Social for 11 years and Finance for a few. I joined art classes with Lois Stipp and Barbara Kenyon and finally in 2011, I joined Royce Jerman's class and found my niche. I have painted on pillows, birdhouses, flower pots, slate, wood and canvas. With Royce's guiding hand, I surprise myself with each achievement!
