28 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | April 2019 | "With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning!" We promised that we would highlight the 90+ Birthday Party and are honored to do so in the magic of photos above: We also share with you two 90+ honorees we were able to photograph off site - Sally Munoz (100) and Jane Pearce (97). Of the 27 invited, 15 honorees made it to the 2019 birthday party. To those who could not attend, we look forward to honoring you next year. Happy birthday! Kindness Recognition Please be reminded of the "Kindness" recognition. Kindness is one of the most important gestures we can extend to one another. We are hoping that we will all take time to think before we act. You can pick up a "Kindness" card at the front desk. If you observe someone who has put forth a special effort to be kind, helping, or caring, simply obtain a card from the front desk. Please include the person's name and a comment why you are recommending this individual for kindness recognition. Celebrations of Life/Memorials A Celebration of Life was held on March 9 for Terry Evans. Ellie Rosenbaum and family gathered in the Multipurpose Room for a beautiful memorial to a sister and aunt. We extend our heartfelt condolences to this family. A private Celebration of Life was held on March 8 for Nick Holloway. Family and friends gathered in the Ballroom in remembrance of a beloved patriarch. There are no words that sufficiently comfort the family and friends of Four Seasons residents. Our deepest sympathies go out to each. We are not always aware of losses in the Four Seasons community, but our sincerest sympathies go out to those who are mourning the loss of a loved one. For your information, in case you didn't know, Celebrations of Life and Memorials are scheduled wholly by Team Sunshine. This means scheduling a room; arranging for food service; decorating the room, etc. for celebrations or memorials is done by contacting our Co-Chairs: Margie Culton and/or Brenda Beers. Thank you. Programs Our March 21 program, "How to be more efficient with water usage" presented by Eben Longfellow, Master Gardener, covered such topics as: • Water-wise Planting • Water Conservation and Efficient Irrigation • Options of Turf Removal (rebates and what's available) • Resources for Landscape Design (ideas plus an overview) • Volunteer and Educational Opportunities in our Valley This program was especially timely as spring has sprung. Team Sunshine "Needs" Information Please fill out a *NEEDS* Form at the Lodge Front Desk if you know of someone who has recently lost a loved one. This form can also be used for various kinds of needs assistance. In case you prefer not to call but would like us to know of a need, this form will record your concern and will be passed on to the appropriate Team Sunshiner. Medical Equipment We do have donated/used medical equipment that we deliver and pick up from residents. Residents who request medical equipment are required to sign a waiver form. Return of medical equipment is requested by contacting Jeanne Lincoln (765-7112). Many thanks for your cooperation. As an added note: we are especially happy to welcome Rose Harvey, Patty Jones and Donna Morrell to the medical equipment team. Our Prayer Warriors Marietta Ruppaner conducts a prayer circle once a month to pray for our residents in need. All are welcome to attend the prayer circle. Just give Marietta a call and she'll give you the date, time and place. Also, if you have a prayer request, get in touch with Marietta or place your prayer request in the Prayer Box in the Multipurpose Room. We are thankful for the service they give to our community. Closing Thoughts "Approach the New Year with resolve to find the opportunities hidden in each new day." ~ Michael Josephson Team Sunshine
