FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2019 53 The 8-Ball Club holds two in-house tournaments each month. An 8-Ball tournament and a 9-Ball tournament. This month the 8-Ball tournament had ten players competing for the championship. Last month Robert Howard went undefeated in the winner's bracket. This month Larry Rice went undefeated in the winner's bracket. But alas, this month Robert came back from the loser's bracket to defeat Larry in two matches to repeat as 8-Ball champion. Congratulations to our 8-Ball champion Robert Howard and runner up Larry Rice. This month's 9-ball tournament found ten players competing in the in-house 9-ball tournament. The new format continued with the winner's bracket being a race to two while the loser bracket is a single game match. Ray Windhorn went undefeated in the winner's bracket to face Leo Babin. Ray needing to win one game while Leo would need to win two. Ray continued his winning streak by winning the first game. Congratulation to our 9-Ball champion, Ray Windhorn and runner up, Leo Babin. The 8-Ball Club would like to welcome our two new regulars Joe Rovere and Paul Carrocino. Also, a welcome to our team's new cheerleaders, Barbara Rovere and Brenda Carrocino. Also, a welcome back to our Captain Del Lyles. The 8-Ball Club is always looking for new players. The club plays or practices Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights 6 to 9 pm. There is a calendar of our events in the Billiard room on the 8-Ball Club bulletin board. Some are experienced and some are just starting, either way we would like to invite you to come check us out. We have two sessions on Monday from 11 am to 1 pm for our more beginners and 1 to 2:30 pm for the more experienced players who like to play singles. Our 1st quarterly tournament was held on Feb. 4 with 14 ladies participating. We had seven teams and the first place winners were Verina Hartman and Sandi Butler; Teri Martin and Dianne Rothberg were our second place winners. We are planning our first quarterly luncheon in March and will have photos in our next article.
