Spring has arrived in Four Seasons at Beaumont! This month we have April Fool's Day, California Poppy Day, National Jelly Bean Day and… shopping! During April, our community will hold the Spring Craft Boutique on Saturday, April 6, and the Community Wide Garage Sale on Saturday, April 27. The Community Wide Garage sale is held twice a year and is open to the public. The hours will be 8 am to 2 pm. Under our Community Guidelines, no other garage or yard sales are allowed on those days. All sellers must be residents of Four Seasons. In order to participate, residents must register with The Lodge or management office in the RCN building. A participant fee is charged which will cover advertising for the event and city of Beaumont permit fees. Garage sale maps will be printed and distributed showing the location of all participants. The Community Guidelines also allow residents to decorate their sales with signs, balloons and banners but these and all sale items must be removed by the end of the day of the sale. The Craft Boutique is held twice each year in the spring and fall. The Spring Craft Boutique event will be held in The Lodge Ballroom and is also open to the public. The boutique hours are 9 am to 2 pm. Under the rules, Four Seasons residents have priority in reserving a table. Once all residents have this opportunity, outside vendors may then enter a lottery for a table but must be sponsored by a Four Seasons resident. This event is a great opportunity to find unique gifts such as jewelry, ceramics, jams and jellies, quilts, cards, photography and much more. At least 80 percent of each vendor's items must be handcrafted. It is wonderful to see how many creative and talented people live in our community. And to make it even better, admission is free! The Rules & Regulations Committee meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 9 am in the RCN Conference Room. We discuss issues of importance to Four Seasons and are committed to maintaining the high standards that make life here so enjoyable. If you want to take an active role of service to the community, please attend the monthly meeting. You are welcome to join us! ~ Margie Chadburn, mjchadburn@aol.com Rules & Regulations committee 22 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2019 The interior door push bar mechanism at The Summit pool that was not functional due to corrosion has been replaced. ADA door openers for The Summit and The Courts facilities were approved and are in the process of being installed. Privacy curtains are being installed in the dressing areas at The Lodge and The Courts facilities. The flooring in the Aerobics Room in the Spa building is worn and in need of replacement. The Facilities Committee is now reviewing replacement of that flooring. We are considering flooring similar to the new floor installed in the Spa gym. We are currently reviewing bids for pool table repair and maintenance including the replacement of the felt, cushions and pockets. The Pickleball Group attended the Facilities Committee meeting to discuss the poor lighting conditions on the pickleball courts. We are reviewing updating the lighting to LED fixtures on the paddle tennis and pickleball courts to improve the lighting coverage and reduce electrical costs. Repairs by our maintenance staff were made to the shuffleboard courts to fix the cracks causing raised areas. The paint touch-up of the repairs was delayed by the rain in March and should be completed shortly. The Facilities Committee meets in the RCN Conference Room on the second Wednesday of the month at 10 am. We always welcome residents to join us and share their ideas or concerns. We currently have several positions open on the Facilities Committee for anyone interested in serving our community. ~ Bruce Lewis Facilities Committee
