4 | OHCC LIVING | APRIL 2019 | It's finally springtime, and we are rapidly approaching summer… my, how time flies! I'll take the opportunity to update the community on projects and services currently in process. As announced at the Board meeting on March 21, the Board has approved a new security patrol vendor, and the transition from Allied to Securitas Security Services is well underway. We are impressed with their thorough approach to managing the security needs of Ocean Hills Country Club, and the high level of technology and resources afforded their employees, like in-field tablets, and GPS monitoring. We'll be working with Board Member Scott Goldwasser and his committee to confirm and finalize the Property Access Procedures and Post Orders. Also, as you have likely heard, Inspiration Hill is complete! This, along with the highly successful Pop Up food services on Monday afternoons, provides the community a great location to even further enjoy what OHCC has to offer. We are very excited about two big projects that are also well underway: The Golf Course Well Water Conversion and Upgrades scope of work is finalized and going out to bid. In addition to the bid process, the Board authorized SDG&E to perform their required electrical evaluation to get power to the two pumps that are needed for the well, and the water retention facility. There are lots of moving parts in this endeavor that takes time, so we will be sure to report on progress as it's made. Of course, the Clubhouse Renovation project is exciting, and the Board will soon be reviewing bids for managing this large-scale, multi-trade project, all while keeping the clubhouse doors open for business. Stay tuned for regular updates on that. The Lanai Committee is currently evaluating the use of the clubhouse relating to residents' needs; and is expected to soon make recommendations to the Board on how to move forward. Please know that staff is very thankful for the Board's support for computer and server equipment upgrades for the Clubhouse and HOA office, which combined with the recent fiber optic Internet upgrade from Cox gives us the ability to even better serve this community with updated equipment and systems. Thanks to the Board. Please note other projects on which we are working include the 35th Anniversary Plans, the Clubhouse heating and air conditioning system evaluation, Tree maintenance, and landscape renovations along Leisure Village Way, Bocce Court repairs (contractor corrections), the Water Diversion project required by the city of Oceanside, and painting of common area walls as needed, weather permitting. The Board also approved the asphalt work for the Village of Hydra, repainting the street markings on Leisure Village Way, and landscape renovations, roofs, and painting projects continue throughout the Villages. I remain especially appreciative of the level of service permitted to keep Ocean Hills Country Club in great shape. As I reported last month in OHCC Living, the amount of work achieved by staff is remarkable. I started looking at our industry experience and found that, combined, we have 200 years of industry experience at Ocean Hills Country Club alone; and at least one employee who's been here nearly 31 years… impressive!
