| OHCC LIVING | APRIL 2019 |29 Here's wishing you all a Happy Passover and a Happy Easter! We are "hopping" you will join us for our Spring Eggstravaganza on Sat., April 20 at 10 am. The celebration takes place on the Lanai with egg hunts for specific age groups, located in the recreational areas. There will be prizes for each age group. Angie outdid herself on the quality of the prizes this year. Please arrive early as the egg hunts get started at 10:30 am and we do not want any child to miss out. Each year the celebration gets larger and larger. The egg hunts will go every 15 minutes, starting with the toddlers and ending with the 12-year-olds. Managing groups this large can be somewhat of a challenge but we hope to keep everyone informed, as the morning progresses. "Hip Hop the Bunny" will join us for the festivities. Bouncy houses will be erected on the golf course and refreshments will be served. Our thanks to Cox Communications for helping to sponsor this event each year. Come see the children as they giggle through the grass! The Pop-up Food Service "Stacy's Crepes" was such a success and the community's support was overwhelming. Through the rain and the cold weather, the residents of OHCC came out and waited patiently for their fresh savory crepes to take home. One woman said she bought seven crepes, another bought three to share with neighbors, and another said she left her cleaning woman at home and she came for her dinner. The food is fresh and made from scratch, so there is a waiting time but they are worth the wait. With the Master Board informed of the pleasant outcome, the decision to continue the service rests in their hands. The direction of this service will come at the monthly Board meeting. If it is decided to continue the service, plan to look for a cluster of balloons, as one drives by the parking lot, signaling the service will be available that day, for all to enjoy. An email blast will be sent out for notification. The Community Services Committee meets the second Friday of each month at 10 am. The Committee members would like to invite all interested residents to attend. The agenda for the meeting is posted in the glass case, in the Clubhouse, near the Front Desk. Some of the topics discussed are improvements in recreational areas, possible guest speakers, fitness center issues, and recommending rule changes within the Clubhouse. One recommendation they considered was the basketball hoop request. It is a pleasure to report that the hoop has been installed at Tennis Court #1, nearest the Clubhouse. A basketball is available for check out from the Clubhouse Front Desk. A lost and found is located at the Front Desk. During the colder weather, we seem to 'find' many jackets, sweaters, gloves, etc. and there is only so much room to keep the articles. If not claimed, after a period of time, the items are donated. Let us welcome spring! The spring season brings along with it beautiful flower blossoms, melodious chirping birds, warm and pleasant sun, and a new beginning to everything. The season that inspired many artists, writers, and alike, to compose beautiful lines and paint her in the most vibrantly possible colors, can surely awake the slumbering poet within everyone! -Kashmira Lad Recreation News By Chris Bessey, Recreation Director
