16 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | May 2019 | As May is arriving we have the pleasure now of seeing all the flowering trees, shrubs, roses and the petunias which are now at their best. Leaves have popped out and our landscape is now at the most beautiful time here in Four Seasons. Our landscape benefited from the winter rains, but the unusually cold weather has taken out a few of our plants. We will be assessing the losses over the next month and will replace those few plants that we lost. Now as we are all starting to irrigate our landscape we need to keep in mind that the soil still has retained a lot of moisture. As this article is being written we are having a couple of days of 90 degree weather and then the temperatures will drop back down to the 70s. Irrigation should be limited to every other day and in most cases limiting the run time to three minutes should be sufficient. Check your mulch and refresh to a two to three inch depth. Mulch will help hold the moisture in and insulate your plants from the heat as the temperatures start to rise. Using a drip system in the beds will also reduce the amount of water usage while saving money as well. There have been some questions from a few homeowners pertaining to getting approval of landscape changes. The Landscape Committee is responsible for the HOA landscaped areas and the front yards of the Legend's homes only. If you wish to make changes to your landscape or hardscape, complete an Architectural Application which will then be submitted to the Architectural Committee for review. All homeowners are welcome to attend our monthly meetings held on the first Wednesday of each month in the Board Room. We also appreciate your reporting to the front desk of any landscape issues, particularly irrigation problems. Enjoy your Memorial Day holiday with your friends and family and drive safely.
