48 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2019 Mixed Media Arts Class This is the perspective of the artist of the month, Andrea Zehner: I had always dreamed of decorating a house with artwork created by myself and my family. I realized that the pieces done by my family were the most special and timeless. With the purchase of this new house, it was now time for me to contribute some masterpieces of my own to fill up all these vanilla walls. I am now on my way to accomplishing this lofty goal. Before moving here, I had only painted three small acrylics. That preview into art showed me that I found it relaxing and I glimpsed some possible hidden talent that needed pursuing. Upon joining the Mixed Media Art Class last fall, I learned that during the class session, Rob Kelman follows your progress and makes suggestions. At the end of class, he critiques each artist's work on display, enabling everyone to benefit from his advice on a variety of techniques and media. The support and guidance of fellow artists, as well our valued instructor, push me to achieve a final piece with which I'm satisfied. Because only then can I sign my work and proudly display it in my new home. Classes are Mondays, 10 am to 12 noon, and/or Wednesdays, 6 to 8 pm. Our members operate licensed and unlicensed radio transceivers capable of communicating within the community as well as with government-established and volunteer disaster response organizations in the area. Join our club and learn how to operate a handheld radio — it's fun and we'll teach you everything you need to know! We meet on the last Friday of every month in the RCN Conference Room at 10 am.
