10 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2019
So what do you do on a lazy, hazy Sunday afternoon? If
you are Loren Stassart, you're at a NASCAR race in nearby
Fontana with four of your Four Seasons friends — Scott
Snyder, Phil Suchowski, John Boggs, and David Whitefield.
It wasn't a lazy day for this group, however. Instead of
kicking back and watching the race, the men were hired
as Track Ambassadors. For the past five years, Stassart
has worked as a Track Ambassador, selected through the
Wounded Warrior program. He is a Vietnam Veteran who
served with the US Marine Corps.
Stassart recommended his friends who were hired,
and from Thursday to Sunday's race day, they were busy
escorting motor homes onto the field, helping fans with
directions, and checking passes to make sure only those
authorized were allowed into the pits.
While the retirees were paid for their ambassador duties,
they found the camaraderie and fun of it far outweighed
receiving a paycheck. "We were just happy to be there
to make sure everyone had a good time," said Snyder on
behalf of the group. By the sound of it, everyone did! ~
