Lifestyles Advisory "Volunteers are not paid, not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless." The Lifestyles Advisory Committee, along with the Editor, Courtney Taylor of Image Up, are focusing on keeping the community better informed as to what the various advisory committees are all about. Be sure and look at the advisory committees' reports. We would like to encourage all of the advisory committees to send their reports to sunlakesnews@yahoo.com by the 6th of the month. If you agree the covers on the Lifestyles are amazing, then please keep sending in your high-resolution pictures to the Editor at sunlakesnews@yahoo.com. Thank you to all who participate. One of the questions we are asked is why the calendar is incorrect in the Lifestyles. This is not generated by the Lifestyles Advisory Committee but by the FirstService Residential Recreation Department team. It is up to you to work with them to make sure your club information is correct. Contact Marla Deckard at marla. deckard@fsresidential to ensure that your information is correct and current. If it's wrong when it's turned in, it will most likely stay that way when it's printed. Thanks to all who provide their input on the community page, "Things We Are Grateful For," where we continue to spread positivity! Remember, if you have someone to thank, or want to spread a little good cheer, please send your gratitude to sunlakesnews@yahoo.com. Put "Gratitude" in the subject line. There is also a box to hand-write your gratitude message at the Main Clubhouse reception desk. If you are interested in joining the Lifestyles Advisory Committee, please fill out an interest form and drop it off in the administration office. 18 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MAY 2019 | Safety & Security Advisory Bingo Advisory This month Bingo is May 14, 21 and 28, with three new sessions and a new Sun Lakes S game. We are so pleased to see so many new Sun Lakers coming to Bingo. We welcome you! Have questions? Call Anne at (951) 845-8700. This committee operates strictly in an advisory capacity. The committee does not create or implement rules. We do however, review assignments from the Master Board and make recommendations about how to proceed. We also look at residents' recommendations on a variety of safety and security subjects. In addition, we also conduct hearings for rules violations in accordance with procedures as set forth in the committee charter. In conjunction with the FirstService Residential staff, residents are advised of parking infractions which, depending on the number, result in hearings before the committee. You can learn more by reading the charter which is on the Sun Lakes website under Committees, Safety & Security. Residents may attend the business portion of the meetings which are held on the fourth Monday of the month at 1:30 pm in the Administration Conference Room, but will be excused for the hearings portion of the meeting. Questions? Jean Dobson, Chair, (951) 922-6755. Sun Lakes Advisory Committee Reports We are happy to see more Advisory Committees submitting articles about the important work they are doing in Sun Lakes. Our goal is to have all active Advisory Committees share their news here each month. Thank you in advance for everyone's participation!
