32 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MAY 2019 | Our next meeting and support group is Thurs., May 16 and Mon., May 27. Both meetings will be at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. There will be NO PATIENT CARE in the Arts and Craft Room during the Monday meeting and support group. We will continue to offer patient care at all the Thursday meetings. There is no guest speaker this month. This will give you more time for the support group. You are invited to attend as many meetings each month as you can fit into your schedule. The Memory Care Group is a support group for all caregivers. You do not have to be caring for someone with Alzheimer's or Dementia. You can be a caregiver to someone with any type of disease. This group started out as a group for Alzheimer's support, but we realize there are so many caregivers here in Sun Lakes caring for people with so many different diseases that we want to be here for all of you. We have a wonderful program for the patients in the Arts and Craft Room. Ed Avina will once again be entertaining this group. We have fun! We sing, dance and just enjoy listening to songs from the past years. So drop your loved one off at the Arts and Craft Room on your way to the meeting. We are a group of loving caregivers. We enjoy caring for your loved one so you can go to the meeting and not worry about them. Thank you to Lorie Wolf and Susan Brown for all the time they have given to the patient group in the Arts and Crafts Room. Your generosity in giving your time is very much appreciated and you will be missed. If you have any questions, would like to learn more about Memory Loss, or would like reading material that we can loan you, call Diane, (951) 769-0130, Doug, (360) 840-5559 or Anne, (951) 845-8700. Remember we are here to help. Memory Care Group In March we were lucky to feature one of our very favorite regulars, Ed Avina, for our entertainment. Ed is so generous with his talent that he sings throughout the meal and covered many years of songs and genres of music. Some of the many songs he sang were Make the World Go Away, Love Me Tender, Love Letters and Mockingbird Hill. Then, as people ate, he continued with more recognized hits including I Love You More Than I Can Say, Pretty Woman and Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Ed Avina is always a treat and a welcome entertainer for the group. Thank you, Ed! In May, we will not have a gathering. That is the only month of the year we are dark. But we'll be back in June with Sun Lakes own Tin Man's Heart. Mike and Lee Stone have performed for us before as their alter ego characters Spud and Dud but this time they will be themselves singing from their Tin Man's Heart repertoire of songs. 80s Plus Club
