SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | MAY 2019 11
By Theresa Rossetti, Resident
Snow in the mountains, rain every other day, wore my California
winter coat for the first time, sweater weather, turn on the heat, too
cold to go out, do we still own an umbrella?, bundle up! These, and
other things, are what we've survived (sarcasm noted) since last
November. While it certainly didn't qualify for a bad winter, refer to
the rest of the U.S. for what that looked like, it was definitely different
from the winter season last year.
But now it's spring! The flowers are blooming (can you say
SuperBloom?), we're doing cleanup, feeding and watering again,
sweaters have been replaced by T shirts and shorts and we're enjoying
our beautiful outdoor surroundings. Yes, we know the heat is coming,
but right now we get to enjoy warm days and cooler nights.
The local "critters" abound as well. The bunnies, doves,
hummingbirds, frogs (heard, not seen), and lizards are everywhere,
joined by the occasional mallard and egret. Has anyone seen a fairy
shrimp?
So, enjoy it while we have it and I hope you like some photos I
took around and about SDV in early April. If you look closely you just
might see that egret making an appearance in one of them.
WOW! WE HAD A WINTER!
