EXCURSIONS Sign-ups begin for the Recreation Department excursions on March 1, at 8 am, in the Rec. Dept. offices. PLEASE NOTE! Due to some of the excursion refund policies, and to keep cancellations down to a minimum, we ask those who wish to sign up for an excursion to please check your calendar for prior engagements prior to signing up for excursions. REFUND POLICY: 1. Cancellations made 30 days prior to the departure date of an excursion or special event will qualify for a full refund. 2. Cancellations made after the 30 day refund deadline are not refundable. However, if an excursion or event has sold out and there is a wait list, the Recreation Department may issue a refund if the ticket can be resold from the wait list. Thank you San Bernardino Symphony ���Classics Revisited��� Sat., May 18, 4 - 10 pm, $38 pp, includes dinner in the Sandwedge. Join us for the performance ���Classics Revisited,��� featuring Lindsay Deutsch, an American violinist who brings a fresh perspective to classical performances. She plays with a passion that trills audiences throughout the US and Canada. She made her Walt Disney Concert Hall debut performing ���Johns Corigliano���s Red Violin Chaconne��� with the California Philharmonic! As a recitalist, she has appeared on the prestigious Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series in Chicago, the LA Da Camera Society at the historic Doheny Mansion, LA���s Gindi Auditorium, and several solo performances for the Leonard Nimoy concert series. The evening begins with dinner in the Sandwedge (choice of pork chop, mashed potatoes, veggies; fillet of sole with rice and veggies; or teriyaki chicken breast with rice and veggies) then it is off to the theater for a beautiful evening of music. Please make menu choice at the time of sign-up. Pechanga Resort & Casino Thurs., May 16, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, $5 pp. Get $5 easy play money (new members receive an additional $10 in easy play). Spend five hours at Pechanga Resort and Casino. The casino���s well planned layout allows guests to move easily among the 3,000+ slot and video machines and over 130+ table games. Cocktail service is available to guests on the gaming floor with several bars, lounges, and restaurants close to the casino floor. Make it a lucky day at Pechanga! Grammy Museum at LA Live Tues., May 28, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm, $32 pp. The Grammy Museum occupies four floors of exhibit space at the heart of LA Live. This one-of-a-kind entertainment district provides LA residents, commuters, guests, and tourists with a world-class sports and entertainment destination. The museums 30,000 sq. ft. of cutting edge experiences, films, and exhibits offer an exciting, multimedia, hands on, interactive celebration of the power of music. Enjoy exploring all four floors of this exhibit, along with a chance to witness ���The Making of a Grammy Moment��� in the Clive Davis Theater. There are tons of eateries scattered throughout LA Live for every palette. If a holiday falls on the first day of the month, sign-ups will begin the next day. waiting list policy The waiting list is created by the Rec. Dept. for sold out events/ excursions. This list is used (in order of registration) when the attendee has to cancel due to illness, doctor���s appointment, etc. The waiting list is not used for additional sign-ups for secondary excursions that are scheduled due to their popularity. Contact the Rec. Dept. if you have any questions about either of these two policies. We accept checks only (payable to Sun Lakes). All Recreation Classes, Excursions, and Special Events are open to residents only, unless otherwise specified. We may open Excursions and Special Events to guests if numbers are low and the activity is in danger of being canceled. -Thank you! ! Game Show Night Sat., March 9, 6:30 - 9 pm, doors opening at 5:30 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Have you ever wanted to be on Family Feud? Well here���s your chance! We are bringing in Interact Productions to host a Family Feud Game Show Night for Sun Lakes. Each table of eight will be a Sun Lakes ���Family��� and compete to go to the final round. Don���t worry; there will be plenty of time once you get to the event to decide team names. Each table will have light appetizers (chips, wings, veggies, chicken strips, etc) to share while you contemplate the winning strategy. The cost of this event is $15 pp. The lottery for this event was in February, so call the Recreation Department at 845-2191 to see if there is still room in the event! We are taking 20 tables of eight people, so it is limited to 160 people. Spring Craft Show Sat., March 16, 9 am ��� 2 pm, doors open at 9 am. It is that time of year for our Spring Craft Show! Sun Lakes residents will have a variety of homemade crafts and goodies for sale. Crafts include jewelry, wood working, paintings, clothes, knitted items, and more! This event is FREE to enter and door prizes will be given out to the first 100 people! For crafters that are interested in selling items, a table costs $6 pp. Contact Ranae at 769-6652 to see if there are tables still available. Dinner & Jazz Night Thurs., March 21, 6:30 - 9 pm, doors open at 5:30 pm. Join us for an evening of jazz with the ���JazzMasters.��� They are a four piece group with piano, bass, drums, horn, and vocals. They play a variety of Latin and American jazz with standards, swing, and 60s and 70s pop tunes. We will open the doors at 5:30 pm for a cocktail hour and easy listening. Dinner will be served at 6:30 pm, and then you are welcome to dance the night away or just sit and enjoy the wonderful sound until 9 pm. Dinner includes, salad, rolls, choice of manicotti or chicken and mushroom pasta, coffee/ice tea/ water.
