36 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2019 | Memory Care has a NEW NAME. We are now Caregiver Support Group. We are a support group that caregivers can attend in order to share challenges in taking care of patients (usually a loved one), personal issues resulting from caregiving, or sometimes achievements within the day to day care of the patient. Caregivers will have the opportunity to speak freely about the challenges they are facing. Having others in similar circumstances to share these issues with is very therapeutic. We are a support group for all caregivers. You do not have to be caring for someone with memory loss. We are here for ALL! Every few months we have a guest speaker sharing their knowledge on topics that will be of interest to you. Our next meeting and support group will be on Thurs., June 20 and Mon., June 24. Both meetings will be at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. There will be NO PATIENT CARE in the Arts and Craft Room during the Monday meeting. We will continue to offer patient care at all the Thursday meetings. There is no guest speaker this month. This will give you more time for the support group. You are invited to attend as many meetings each month as you can fit into your schedule. We have a wonderful program for the patients in the Arts and Craft Room. Ed Avina will once again be entertaining this group. We have fun! We sing, dance and just enjoy listening to songs from the past years. So drop your loved one off at the Arts and Craft Room on your way to the meeting. We are a group of loving caregivers. We enjoy caring for your loved one so you can go to the meeting and not worry about them. If you have any questions, would like to learn more about Memory Loss, or would like reading material that we can loan you, call Diane, (951) 769-0130, Doug (360) 840-5559 or Anne (951) 845-8700. Remember we are here to help. Caregiver Support Group In April we had three different International Dancers from our Sun Lakes International Dancers. They were very festive, beautiful and talented with Flamenco and Folklorico dances. Thank you very much to our own Sun Lakes International Dancers!!! In May we were dark, the only month of the year. In June we will be featuring a very talented married couple and duet of Lee and Mike Stone known as Tin Man's Heart. They performed for us before as their alter ego characters Spud and Dud which they created for That's Entertainment one year and again the following year. This time they will be singing as themselves so we'll get to see their real talents as opposed to their comedy routines. But either way, they are sure to please. Come join us or visit to see if you'd like to join us. You can attend one month without being a member to see if you'd like to join. We think it'll be worth your while and you'll have a good time. Just be sure and let us know by the fifth of the month for a reservation for our head count for the caterer. We meet at 3 pm in the South Clubhouse (unless otherwise noted) on the third Saturday of each month. Get your reservations in by the fifth of the month to Donna Harrington at (909) 561-5066, 5393 Riviera for your reservations for the necessary head count. Our dinners are almost always $11. We also receive an occasional meal free to the members. Spouses and caregivers are welcome to attend as well. Many members bring along their visiting children or other out of town visiting guests. We make everybody feel welcome and our goal is a good time for everyone. For information, call Barb at 845-7904. 80s Plus Club Let us help you look & feel your best you 951-845-4237 851 6th St., Ste.
