| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2019 | 33 The Friendship Club is dark in June because of the events of Charity Week. The Club's next show is scheduled for Sun., July 14. It stars Paul Boland, "The Man of a Thousand Voices," who is a singer/ impersonator/comedian. Here's a rundown of shows for the rest of the year: Aug. 11: "Hollywood Revisited," a stunning musical revue that showcases a truly dazzling lineup of costumes actually worn by the stars in the original Hollywood films. Set to music that defined the times and presented by top notch Broadway and Hollywood performers, "Hollywood Revisited" will leave you in awe as you learn about the original historic costume designs of Hollywood's Golden Age. Sept. 8: (Double bill) "Jamaican Me Laugh" starring Matilda, Jamaica's #1 Comedienne and her Second City trained sidekick, ventriloquist Patrick Murray. Together they deliver a show full of sparkling wit and good humor, combining comedy and ventriloquism. Joining them on the bill will be the song and dance team of Palmer Davis and MaryAnn Hermansen. Palmer Davis' graceful strength, incredible high kicks, and down to earth personality shine in this wonderful show. Oct. 13: Darren Dowler was formerly a member of the pop group Paul Revere and the Raiders, an American rock band that saw considerable U.S. mainstream success in the second half of the 1960s and early 1970s. Nov. 10: "The Wonderful Wizard of Song" is a tribute to the music of Harold Arlen, who wrote over 400 songs including I've Got the World On A String, It's Only A Paper Moon, Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate The Positive, Stormy Weather, and all the songs from The Wizard of Oz (most notably "Over The Rainbow").
