| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2019 | 3 From the President's Desk By Sandra Moyer I hope the first week of June is finding you enjoying all the fun of Charity Week. I would like to invite all of you to check out the new Channel 97 format. Thanks to the efforts of Bob Murri working with Jason Ewals, we now have voiceover announcements. We would like your feedback on this change. Eventually we hope to expand by giving information about ongoing projects on the property as well as coverage not only of Board Meetings but of quarterly City Manager meetings and any other community informational meetings. Securitas has started a Golf Course Marshal program. They will be patrolling the course and the coverts from 4 to 8 pm. Their major duties are to check that those golfing have either checked in the pro shop or if closed, signed the clipboard on the outside door or window. All must do this even if you are an annual member. They will also watch for residents just walking on the golf course or taking their dogs for a walk on the course. This is not permitted. Last but not least, they will also be checking the coverts to be sure people are not coming onto the property. Weather permitting, reconstruction of irrigation lines on holes 14, 15, and 16 of the championship course will begin the week after Charity week. Please check with the pro shop regarding play during that time. Update on Clubhouse, Restaurant & Lounge, and Sandwedge renovation. We will be reviewing during the next couple of weeks contract bids submitted to do the work requested. One change I do want to tell you about, is our decision to put LVT flooring in the Sandwedge instead of carpeting. This will make it more conducive for dancing when Lounge entertainment must be moved to that room. You don't stop laughing because you grow old. You grow old because you stop laughing! I thought you would enjoy these: A police recruit was asked during the exam, 'What would you do if you had to arrest your own mother?' He answered, 'Call for backup.' Three boys are in the schoolyard bragging about their fathers. The first boy says, 'My dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a poem, they give him $50.' The second boy says, 'That's nothing. My dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a song, they give him $100.' The third boy says, 'I got you both beat. My dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a sermon, and it takes eight people to collect all the money!' Enjoy your month and hope to see you at our open Board meeting June 26 at 6:30 pm. CORRECTION: Last month's cover photo was taken by Anita Lawrence. We misidentified the photographer and apologize for this mistake.
