54 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2019 Motorcycle club Last month several members of the Four Seasons Motorcycle Club (MC) went on the long awaited five-day run to Arizona. This was our first multi-day ride for 2019. Making the ride were Howard Lyon (BMW R 1200RT), Bob Howard (Triumph Tiger 800), Steve Bennett (Harley Davidson Road Glide), Paul Bricker (Harley Davidson Street Glide), Charles Price (Harley Davidson Trike), Scott Snyder (Victory Vision), Dan Lanphere (Triumph Bonneville), Bernie Albanese (Kawasaki Versys 650) and Jim Ayala (Yamaha FJ 09). Day one took us to Yuma. Not much happening in Yuma; it just seemed like a good place to stop for the first day. Day two took us to Tucson where we stayed for three days as our jump off point for three days of riding and sightseeing. Highlights of the trip included a visit to the Pima Air & Space Museum. Incredible! Our visit and tour of the museum lasted about three hours, but it would have been easy to spend the entire day at this incredible museum. Day two took us to Sahuarita for a tour of the Titan Missile Museum. This is the only remaining Titan II site open to the public. This guided tour took us underground into the control center, and into the missile silo that houses an actual Titan II missile (unarmed of course). Day three took us to Tombstone to take in the sights, and then we hit the road to visit a massive open pit copper mining operation. A special thank you goes to Howard Lyon for planning the entire itinerary for what turned out to be a wonderful five-day motorcycle ride. And speaking of Howard Lyon, he came to the rescue on day one when Scott Snyder's battery died while taking a break in Mecca. It just so happened that Howard was packing his handy dandy portable battery jump starter. After Scott's bike fired up, we headed for El Centro for a new battery, and then it was on to Yuma. Did I mention that not much is happening in Yuma? Our next multi-day ride will be a week- long ride in September up the coast to San Francisco, then up and over the Sierras and back home via the 395. There are 10 riders signed up for this one. In the meantime, we head out every Thursday for our weekly ride of about 150 to 200 miles. If you ride, the MC always welcomes new members; feel free to call Terry Humble, Pres. at (909) 706-2298, or Scott Snyder, VP at (562) 714-7252, or Jim Ayala, Sec. at (951) 392-6259. We'll be glad to answer any questions you may have. And speaking of new members, welcome Joe Bert! Joe recently joined the MC and we look forward to seeing him on our Thursday rides on his BMW GS 850 (that's a sweet ride). Joe is wasting no time becoming an active member; he has already signed up for our September multi-day ride.
