| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JUNE 2019 | 19 A R T Group The Gallery Wall and Cabinet for June: The paintings on the wall are by Sherry Hutson and Howard Feigenbaum. In the cabinet are Becki Kinney, jewelry and Pam Hayter, by the sea plaques. Stop by and enjoy this variety of art. I have been handling the gallery and Cabinet for six years and will step down as of June 30. My steadfast helpers are Sherry Hutson, her husband Jim Hutson. Of course my handy husband Jerry Hawkins. Thanks to Lois Stipp, the head of The A. R. T. Group and all of the many volunteers who were willing to help when needed. Our new Gallery Wall and Cabinet chairs are Vicki Allen-Hitt and Lucia Wolfer. Thank you so much ladies for taking over July 1, 2019. I was still working at the time, managing Home Owners Associations. It was important to be precise in implementing the rules, regulations and accounting practices of each community. Needless to say my work life was pretty rigid. After I retired, I wanted to expand my horizons and move out of that rigid box I was in. I took a couple of courses at Mt. San Jacinto College and fell in love with ceramics. I found that I am able to create Critters, thus "Critters by Pamela" was born. I started with fish. Penguins, pelicans and seahorses soon followed. My latest critters are dragons and I have mules and alpacas in the creative thought process. Each critter can take up to a month to create starting from a chunk of raw clay. Until they are finished, I don't know their names or their stories. When each one of them are complete, they have a name and a short story that explains where they come from and who they are. Finished, each critter is ready to hang up and be admired and loved by their humans in their new home. My critters are such a departure from my previous life and are a great deal of fun to create. I even surprised myself. Who knew? Featured Artist: Pamela Hayter Book Club All readers interested in great discussions, occasional guest speakers and movies, join us the third Monday of every month. Our book for June is The Red Garden by Alice Hoffman. We will be meeting at my house at 669 Weir Drive at 2 pm. Hope to see all of you.
