SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | JUNE 2019 7 By Sherrie Chaparro, Resident Our new General Manager, Anna Machado, grew up in San Diego, and has worked in the HOA industry her entire career. Her employers include Walters Management, Keystone Pacific, Encore Property Management and, most recently, Associa. She started as an administrative assistant, working her way up through architectural coordinator, entry level portfolio manager, senior community association manager and general manager. The majority of her career has been spent managing a portfolio of 5 – 10 HOA's at a time. This is her second on-site general manager position, both at 55+ developments. Anna has several professional certifications and, in between her busy life as general manager, wife and mother, she is planning to take additional continuing education courses for another certification. She has also served as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the homeowner's association where she lives, which has given her a good perspective on how residents perceive a management company and its employees. Anna and her husband, Tony, moved from San Diego to Hemet with their two young boys in 2004. Later, they decided to have more children, and added Frankie (6) and Robert (4) to Alec (22) and Ethan (20). Anna enjoys being "Queen of the Castle" surrounded by her men but concedes that the flatulence jokes can get a bit old. She is very lucky in that Tony is self-employed and can look after the younger boys while she is at work. In her off hours, Anna enjoys crafting and creative pursuits, family time with her husband and children, and hosting parties and entertaining friends and family. She and her husband recently purchased a new home. Because the needs of her family had changed, they Marie Kondoed many of their previous possessions, and she has thoroughly enjoyed the process of designing, decorating and curating items for their new home. For now, Anna is focused on learning as much as she can about our history at Solera Diamond Valley to gain a thorough understanding of how things were done and why they were done that way. Her fresh perspective gives her the unique opportunity to streamline internal procedures, creating a more effective and efficient operation. Anna enjoys her job because she enjoys working with people. As she stated, "Ensuring that Solera Diamond Valley continues to be a tight knit and socially active community is very important to me. It truly warms my heart to see residents using the facilities, participating in the various groups/events, making connections with their neighbors and just really living life to the fullest." With her creative bent and prodigious organizational skills, Anna is a great addition to our management team. Meet Anna Machado
