All our welcome to our Picnic for Passion and Patriotism on Sun., June 23, with doors opening at 11:30 am. The prices will be a bah gen dahlink! Our goal is to have a delicious luncheon, with ample quantities, served picnic style at each table and, with the profits usually garnered by a caterer, we hope and plan to donate to two or three worthy groups. We'll be using local suppliers and our own hard workers to put the meal together, plus servers to set tables, assemble the food, and do clean up. We promise delicious meats, your own container of chopped liver, plus potato salad, coleslaw, rye bread, yummy rugulah, sodas, coffee and condiments. For entertainment, we will again welcome that terrific team, WendyandRik, doing their song and comedy shtick in the style of Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme. They are FUN! Proceeds of the picnic luncheon will go to the National Yiddish Book Center in our support for the Passion of preserving Yiddish, and to our own Woodchucks for their commitment to patriotism in support of the Camp Pendleton families. If we raise enough sheckels, we will also contribute to the San Diego-based Yiddish group YAAANA. Because of fixed expenses (servers and entertainment), we must have a good-sized crowd in order to make these important donations. So please invite friends and family to come! Member price is $20; guest price is $25; children age 13 and under $15. It is a bah-gen! Come to this very special Picnic for Passion and Patriotism! Deadline for reservations is June 19. Please make your check payable to OHCC Yiddish Club and leave it at the front desk. Contact Lainy at LFV2@sbcglobal.net or 760 726 1865. Til then, gey gezunterheyt!
