FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2019 9 fellow judges will painstakingly sample each pot until they uncover the recipe that Lady Liberty herself would be proud to hold high. The first-place winner will have their recipe featured in the Chef 's Corner of the August issue of the Breeze and receive a $50 gift certificate to Chili's Bar & Grill. Not interested in chili? No problem! Attendees are welcome to bring any entrée, salad, side, or dessert of their choosing. Chili judging will commence at 12 pm and the community luncheon will begin at 12:30 pm in the Ballroom, however, those bringing food are encouraged to drop off their dishes shortly prior. Sign-ups for both the Chili-Cook Off and Potluck Luncheon are available now in The Lodge Lobby. Don't worry, your Independence Day plans aren't over yet! At 3 pm in front of The Lodge entrance a panel of five secret judges will be pacing the parking lot in search of a golf cart decorated so well that it could challenge Paul Revere's dedication. That's right, our annual Golf Cart Patriotism Parade is returning in explosive color. Those wishing to enter their golf carts into the parade should line up in front of The Lodge by 2:45 pm so that judging may commence. Shortly after we announce the first, second, and third-place winners, all drivers will roll off to tour the community in star-spangled style. The parade route will follow Four Seasons Circle past both The Courts and The Summit, providing excellent viewing alternatives for those who aren't able to make the trek down to The Lodge. With so much excitement and a lot more fun ahead, what could be better than a cool relaxing dip while enjoying the sounds of freedom ringing? Join us at The Lodge swimming pool at 4 pm for another community first — Karaoke by the Pool! Grab your towels and dust off those singing skills, but don't forget to be continuously attentive to our current pool rules; guests under the age of 18 will not be allowed in the fenced pool area after 4 pm, seating and barbecues are first come, first-served, and you may not reserve spaces earlier in the day (but you may bring in personal lawn chairs). Lastly, please refrain from discarding boxes of tea into the swimming pool. While we applaud your desire to re-enact our country's proud history, we can assure you that we do not need 30,000 gallons of chamomile. The Lodge and The Courts will be closing early at 7 pm on the fourth, in observance of the holiday. However, The Summit will remain open later than usual to provide residents with an ideal viewing spot for the city of Beaumont's Pyro Spectacular Fireworks display beginning at 9 pm. Please arrive early to secure parking and seating at this extremely popular community tradition. As you make your way home this Fourth of July we hope our many celebratory community events will have given you reason to briefly pause and reflect on the well-earned freedoms our country has granted us. Above the flags and fireworks is a message to everyone standing on American soil that, as stated in our nation's Declaration of Independence, we are each endowed with certain unalienable rights and that among these are "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Given everything we have planned for you on our nation's birthday, Four Seasons at Beaumont seems like a good place to continue achieving that. continued from previous page
