| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JULY 2019 | 11 Access Control Committee We mentioned in our last submission of the Herald magazine about the possibility of using "Traffic Calming" devices to assist us in trying to improve the speeding situation within our community. In order to do this fairly and efficiently we do need to reach out to the local Fire department to get their opinion and approval before we can proceed with any definitive plans. As of this writing we do not have anything documented from them to either support, or deny the practicality of using these devices. As your committee, it behooves us to make sure the subjects we propose to you are in good standing and in the best interest of our community. We will continue to investigate this issue, and bring more up-to-date material in the coming weeks and months. What a hit! Stone Soul Band hit it out of the park on Sat., June 8. Dancing was non-stop with hits like Lady With The Blue Dress On, I'm Going to Make You Love Me, and Baby I Need Your Loving. Singing along with each song was part of the fun and many could remember well most of the words. Thanks to Janice Depew, who chaired the event for the Social Committee. I would like to thank my committee for their assistance, along with Louise and the Lodge staff. Looking forward to next year. Music will continue this month with Sharifah & The Good Thing performing on the Plaza July 23, from 6 to 8 pm. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the front desk in the Lodge up to the night of the performance. Come enjoy R & B, soul and rock. This month will begin with a celebration of our country's independence on Thurs., July 4. The golf cart parade begins at 10 am; all carts are to gather by the fountain in front of the Lodge. Everyone is welcome to join in with their carts. The Fourth of July celebration will begin at 5 pm with games, and a patriotic celebration beginning at 5:30 pm, with dinner served at 5:30 pm, and a band to play at 7 pm. Hope you bought a ticket to celebrate with us. Events to look forward to and put on your calendar are Movie Under The Stars coming in August, and on Sept. 28 plan to attend the Oktoberfest. Look for more information to come in the Herald. From Janice Depew: Stone Soul Concert: Wow! What a fun evening. The great music brought back such fond memories for all of us .The dance floor was full all evening. When I booked Stone Soul, I told Matt we were a very active community and we loved to dance. At the end of the evening he said, "Janice, you weren't kidding!" He said they loved playing for us. Social Committee
