| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JULY 2019 | 27 We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 am and class is free. Getting to know us better: Joyce Kerns is an original member of SASY – Strong Adults Stay Young. "It is true, we do a lot of talking and socializing. We have made lifelong friends. My motto has always been, "Ladies, if you can't move your hips, move your lips" -- make a friend, socialization is so important for seniors' mental health as well as physical well being. I was born in Redding, CA and went to school in Chino, CA, attending Mt. San Antonio and Chaffey Colleges. I married Wayne and have two children. I lost the love of my life and, thanks to dear friends at Four Seasons, I have survived." We will be sharing other team members over the next few months. SASY consists of 12 strength training "moves." We focus on arms, legs, and torso. All exercises are done slowly and with a chair for balance support. The class is 30 minutes long. Come join us. We do start early – really the best part of the day! If you have questions regarding this class, please call Jeanne Lincoln at (951) 765-7112, Char Weakley at (951) 926-2599 or Joyce Kerns at (951) 325-8840. Strong Adults Stay Young (SASY) Healthy Living We share a couple of hints that might help when you are trying to shed a few pounds. • Control portions. Especially during the holidays, know that you'll have more opportunities to eat festive snacks and desserts. You don't have to deprive yourself, just eat smaller portions and less often. • Eat when you're hungry. Just because the clock says noon doesn't mean you have to eat. If you're not hungry, wait until you are – just don't wait until you're famished because you might overeat. Also, don't eat just because the food is available. Healthy Living is not a "diet" program – it focuses on developing a healthy lifestyle that hopefully lasts a lifetime. Please join us every Wednesday at 9 am in the Multipurpose Room. If you have any questions, please call Dave & Karen Tuvim (951) 599-4236. Happy Campers RV Club The Four Seasons RV club meets in the Card Room on the first Saturday of the month at 10 am. We usually plan three or four trips a year. If you enjoy camping and making new friends stop in. There is no fee to join the club, but we do collect food for the pantry in Hemet. We just returned from a very wet trip up to Yosemite and the surrounding area. We already have another a trip set-up to Pismo Beach in September. For more information contact Melody Lewis (858) 775-1213.
