10 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | AUGUST 2019 | Facilities Committee Harold Townend, former President who served on the Board of Directors, made a profound statement to the Facilities Committee that has driven our desire to make a positive difference in the appearance and functionality of our community. With a firm and determined voice, President Townend stated… "Our Lodge is the crown jewel of Four Seasons. Your objective is to keep it shining." Our desire to maintain that objective and make a positive difference in our community has been the driving force behind the Facilities Committee. Each member brings a special gift and experience to the table every other Wednesday when we meet to discuss the immediate and future needs of Four Seasons at Hemet. What happens behind closed doors at a Facilities meeting? After our meeting is called to order by the chairman, we begin by introducing and listening to homeowner input – residents who wish to speak to the committee regarding service concerns, maintenance related items, or items listed on the meeting agenda. We then turn our attention to vendors who have been invited to share their proposals on current and future project contracts. After considering the presentations by homeowners and vendors, we proceed with the following agenda: • Acceptance of the minutes from the previous meeting • Review annual and monthly Maintenance Guide Inspections • Review management's Project & Service Tracking list • Discuss progress of current business and ongoing projects • Discuss new business and project proposals • Review contract renewals and long-term projects • Consider recommendations to the Four Season Board of Directors The mission of the Facilities Committee is to maintain and improve our community. As members of our committee resign due to various circumstances, we welcome new candidates who are willing to make a positive difference by sacrificing their time and effort. Every individual has a unique quality or skill that can contribute to the success and value of Four Seasons in Hemet. Please join us! Emergency preparedness committee Earthquake… Earthquake… Earthquake… Are You Ready? On July 4 and 5, about 130 miles from us, there were significant earthquakes. One was at 7.1, stronger than the Northridge quake that left 250,000 homeless for a period. Imagine if the quake had occurred on the San Jacinto fault just down the road. Are you ready? Will all our houses collapse? Probably NOT; however, the goods inside our homes will be scattered and broken on the floor. Unsecured items will fall over. You don't want to be under them! To learn how to get ready, go to https://fscert.org. You can help yourself! Four Seasons CERT Street Captains will continue to visit homes in Four Seasons to help explain the use of the "OK/Help Needed" signs for you to store in your window and use during a disaster. Your Street Captain neighbors will be wearing a green vest. Please answer your door for them. Most of all, display the blank green sign in your window, it's a convenient place to store your signs and have quick access when you need them in an emergency. Just flip the green sign around if you are "OK" or replace it with the "Need Help" if you are not, so your CERT neighbors can prioritize getting help to you. Our Mission: The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program is designed to increase individual and community preparedness and self-reliance in the event of man-made or natural disasters. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has officially recognized CERT as an important part of a community's disaster preparedness readiness. Four Seasons CERT continues to need your participation. Become a Street Captain or CERT Auxiliary. Step up. Be a part of the best CERT in the valley, come make a difference.
