| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | AUGUST 2019 | 11 Our country's birthday was celebrated with a golf cart parade and an old fashioned picnic on the plaza. The festivities honored our nation's freedom, patriotism, and community. The morning began with a parade of golf carts decorated in red, white and blue. The participants had coffee and donuts together before they set off down Four Seasons Boulevard with many neighbors watching and cheering the parade on its way. Thanks to Don Sims and Mike and Donna McLaughlin for organizing the parade — a great way to start the day. To further the merriment, the plaza was decorated with table centerpieces of red, white, and blue large paper flowers and red, white and blue rockets with streamers. There were paper lanterns, and flags hung to further the festivities. A picnic of hamburgers, hot dogs and chili were served, with apple cobbler for dessert. To top off the evening The Psycohbillies band played foot tapping and dancing music. It was a great evening thanks to the hard working committee, co-chaired by Linda Stroup and Barbra Balser.
