| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | AUGUST 2019 | 27 We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 am and class is free. Getting to know us better: Donna Morrell - "I was born at Riverside Community Hospital, but spent my elementary school years in Silverton, Oregon. After moving back to California, I graduated from Chaffey High School in Ontario, and went to Sawyer Business School. I began my working career in Medical Records at Pomona Valley Community Hospital, working with the physicians to report their cancer patients to the California Cancer Registry (CCR). After 19 years, I moved to working with the researchers at the Los Angeles Cancer Surveillance Program, part of the CCR which is administered by USC. "I have five children: son/daughter-in-law; daughter/son-in-law; stepson and five of the cutest and smartest grandchildren ever! My sweet husband died in July, 2017. I retired from USC and moved to Four Seasons in November, 2017. I love it here, where I have made many new friends and participate in many activities, including SASY!" We will be sharing other team members over the next few months. SASY consists of 12 strength training "moves." We focus on arms, legs, and torso. All exercises are done slowly and with a chair for balance support. The class is 30 minutes long. Come join us. We do start early – really the best part of the day! If you have questions regarding this class, please call Jeanne Lincoln at (951) 765-7112, Char Weakley at (951) 926-2599 or Joyce Kerns at (951) 325-8840. Strong Adults Stay Young (SASY) Healthy Living Exercise has powerful health benefits! It can lower your risk of many diseases, including heart disease, diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis, and some cancers. In fact, people who work out on a regular basis are thought to have up to a 50 percent lower risk of dying from many of these illnesses. Exercise is also incredibly good for your mental health, and it can help you manage stress and unwind. Keep this in mind when you consider the effects of exercise. Even if it isn't effective for weight loss, it still has other benefits that are just as important (if not more). BOTTOM LINE: Exercise is about way more than just weight loss. It has various powerful benefits for your body and brain. Healthy Living focuses on developing a healthy lifestyle that hopefully lasts a lifetime. We will be introducing a Healthy Living member (albeit from their senior yearbook) over the months ahead. We will not identify them – you guess! Please join us every Wednesday at 9 am in the Multipurpose Room. If you have any questions, please call Dave and Karen Tuvim (951) 599- 4236. Happy Campers RV Club The Four Seasons RV club meets in the Card Room on the first Saturday of the month at 10 am. We usually plan two or three trips a year. If you enjoy camping and making new friends stop in. There is no fee to join the club, but we do collect food for the pantry in Hemet. We currently have one trip set-up to Pismo Beach in September. For more information contact Melody Lewis (858) 775-1213. Donna Morrell Guess who? Come join the fun! We play on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays from 7:30 am to noon. We invite anyone that would like to learn how to play Pickleball to come on down the fourth Saturday of the month at 8 am for lessons. We know you will have as much fun as we do. Players of all skill levels welcome! Pickleball
