| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | AUGUST 2019 | 7 August! Month eight in the year, less than 150 days till Christmas… I think I now understand the reference to "over the hill." This year is over the hill and gaining speed! We have a NEW event coming up this month. The Community Wide Yard Sale is scheduled for Aug. 10, 7 am to 1 pm. If you want to participate, there is still time to get your application in. The city of Hemet required that everyone participating in the yard sale has a permit. I am taking care of that process for you, so get to the front desk, fill out your application and pay your fee. Remember, if you don't want it at your home, we have spaces available in the small parking lot by the Lodge. We are providing a Yard Sale sign, some pricing stickers, plus we have advertised this event in the local paper. There should be a good turnout. Good luck everyone on selling everything you put out. Don't forget about the Movies under the Stars every Thursday night in August. All the movies are PG or PG-13. The Social Committee is providing FREE popcorn and candy. You may bring your own beverages (no glass please), and golf carts are welcome. Don't forget your chair and a sweater, it can get chilly before the movie is over. Cartoons start at 7:45 and the movie starts around 8 pm, as soon as it is dark enough. Thank you to all of you who are supporting the Music on the Plaza events. We have consistently had well over 250+ people for each event. Your support of these events is what keeps it happening. Thank you! At the June Board Meeting, we presented checks for $4,000 each to the two charities supported through Taste of Elegance. Pictured are Kathleen Callicott and Gayle Hepner from CASA (Center Against Sexual Assault) and Denise Desirello from U.S. Vet. Both groups were very thankful for the much needed funds to support their group. Thank you again for your support to make this possible. Fall Marketplace will be Oct. 26 from 9 am to 2 pm. Sign-ups will be on Aug. 12. Residents are $10, non-residents are $20. Ballroom locations go fast, so if you want inside, you need to be here on the first day of sign-ups to get a place. First come, first served with booth locations. As usual, if outside, you will need to provide your own pop-up. We will provide tables as we have them. If you have your own table, you may bring it. There are so many fun events coming up, so make sure you are getting the email blasts and picking up the fliers at the counter, so you know when tickets go on sale. See you around the Lodge.
