RECREATION DEPARTMENT | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2019 | 11 Upcoming events Sat., Oct. 22; doors open at 6 pm, Main Clubhouse Ballroom, $10pp. Enjoy an evening of laughs with Corporate Comedy Entertainment, featuring three great comedians from the Los Angeles area. They are guaranteed to make you laugh until you drop! This event will be table seating. There will be an appetizer buffet in the Ballroom that you can purchase for $12 that night. Lottery dates are Aug. 5 – Aug. 11. You can pick up your registration forms at the Main Clubhouse Reception Desk. Checks only, limit four people per check, 8-10 people per table. Table assignments will be posted in the Recreation Office hallway by Aug. 14. Tues., Oct. 22, 9 am - 2 pm in the Main Clubhouse MPR. Sun Lakes is hosting a blood drive to support Lifestream, which is a blood bank for the San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. The donated blood goes to local hospitals in our area such as Beaver Medical, San Gorgonio, and Loma Linda. Please help us on this day by donating blood. Our goal is to have 40 people donate! If you are interested please call the reception desk and sign up for a time slot. We have timeslots every 15 minutes from 9 am – 2 pm. The donation center will be in the Multipurpose Room of the Main Clubhouse. Hope to see you there! Comedy Night Blood Drive COMMUNITY SHREDDING Do you have boxes of paper just lying around taking up space? If so, we have a solution for you. On Oct. 26 there will be a truck shredding papers on site at the Main Clubhouse for only $4 a box (standard Bankers Box please). This is a great way to get rid of those confidential papers that you no longer need without having to drive to a place and pay a large fee. The shredding will take place from 9 am to 12 pm. No sign-ups are required. Just show up with your boxes. For more information please contact the Recreation desk at 845-2191. Movie Under the Stars Sat., Sept. 7, at dusk on the Veranda/Driving Range. Join us on the driving range for the showing of How to Train Your Dragon- Hidden World. The movie will start at dusk (approx. 7:30 pm). Bring your golf cart or a chair and blanket to relax under a 22' tall air screen, please remember chairs and blankets should be in front of the golf carts for better viewing.
