4 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2019 | GM Report By Christopher Mitchell Member questions from previous meeting: Q: A member asked for an update on flood lights for patrol cars to be used at night. A: At this time we have no update on this. Q: A member asked about the clock in the South Clubhouse that doesn't work. Also, the member inquired about the bench on hole #9. A: Operations has received the request to replace the clock in the pool and that was done. Further, the Board and staff have stated in the past that a bench will be placed in the area of Hole #9 tee box. As a reminder, there were projects in that area that delayed the placement of the bench. Unfortunately, it is not simply pouring a pad and placing the bench. Rather, a fence barrier must be constructed on the slope next to the bench. Q: A member asked when the upgrades/repairs will be completed at the South Clubhouse. A: All repairs and upgrades have been completed at the South Clubhouse. Q: A member asked why the May Lifestyles magazine had two nights of "No music," with no explanation. Is this likely to repeat? A: No music occurred during that time due to a club event occurring (International Dancers); the Board is looking into other music options. Q: A member asked what is being done to block the view of the maintenance yard. A: Staff is looking for options to block the view of the yard. This includes fence coverings. Q: A member asked why the swimming pools are now chlorine rather than salt water. A: Staff looked into this and it appears to have been changed over eight years ago, and it appears the cost for salt water pools was the deciding factor. Q: A member asked about the enforcement of "painting of homes and landscape maintenance." A: Staff continues to monitor and mail out paint reminder letters and paint maintenance required letters. Further, staff does continue to enforce the landscape maintenance requirements. If the member has an address they are concerned with, please email the Planning & Compliance department with that address. Q: A member asked about having music every Friday and Saturday in the lounge. A: Staff is working with the Board on how to accommodate the member's desire for music on Friday and Saturday and accommodate users of an event in the Ballroom. We hope to have this resolved soon.
