Well, we have a great opportunity for you. Johnson's Hearing will be on- site in the Bus Room for two hours every other month to check and clean your hearing aids free of charge. Make sure you stop by and get them checked. The dates are on Fridays, Sept. 27 and Nov. 22 from 10 am to 12 pm. Meet your new Recreation Director Elise Campbell Hello Sun Lakers! I am very excited to join SLCC and FirstService Residential as your new Recreation Director. I have over five years of event and travel planning experience from Lewis Property Management. I have planned many small and large events ranging from Health Fairs and Expos to Corporate Employee events. I also hold a Master's Degree in Recreation and Tourism Management from CSU Eastbay. I am an avid sports fan and love to attend Anaheim Ducks hockey games as well as play golf, spend weekends with family and friends jet-skiing, camping or other fun outdoor activities. In addition, I enjoy cruising and traveling the world. Some of my favorite destinations include Vienna, Paris, Alaska and Maui. In 2018, I bought my first home in Yucaipa and I am enjoying the many fun projects of making my house my own. I am eager to meet you and look forward to planning fun events that create new memories and adventures. Cheers! looking ahead CRAFT SHOW: FRI., NOV. 1 & SAT., NOV. 2, 9 AM – 1 PM, MAIN CLUBHOUSE BALLROOM It's that time again; time to start your holiday shopping. With the holidays right around the corner, what better way to shop for the special people in your life than taking a short trip to your Main Clubhouse Ballroom? Starting at 9 am Nov. 1 come down and check out all the unique gifts and crafts that have been made by your fellow Sun Lakes residents. There is something for everyone and everything has been made with love. Admission is free and door prizes will be given away each day. Lottery will start on Sept. 30 and go through Oct. 6. The vendor table drawing will be on Tues., Oct. 8 at 8:30 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. ANNUAL VETERANS WALK: SAT., NOV. 9, 9:30 – 11:30 AM Please join us for our 8th Annual Veterans Walk to honor all who have served for our country. This walk will be held inside Sun Lakes and all the proceeds from this event will be going to the local VFW Troop 233. Last year we raised over $7,700 and our goal this year is to surpass that. It will consist of a two-mile walk around Country Club Drive to Riviera, and back up Country Club Drive to the Main Clubhouse. If you don't feel you can do the two miles, there are turn back increments at half a mile, one mile and 1.5 miles so there is a walk for everyone. Registration forms can be picked up at the Recreation Desk starting Mon., Sept. 2. The cost is $20 pp (checks only – made out to SLCC) and includes a goodie bag with an event T-shirt, continental breakfast after the walk and an opportunity to listen to a couple of decorated veterans. For any resident unable to walk, you can still participate by entering your golf cart into the event. We ask that the carts be decorated with a U.S. Flag, a Service Flag, or a Wounded Warrior Flag to support the event. Please note, golf cart use is for disabled residents ONLY. ** If you know anyone who would like to be a sponsor this event, please have them contact Elise at (951) 769-6651. ** Continental Breakfast is for participants only. ** Please carpool or use your golf cart to come up to the starting line.
