Due to some of the excursion refund policies and to keep cancellations down to a minimum, we ask those who wish to sign up for an excursion to please check your calendar for prior engagements prior to signing up for excursions. REFUND POLICY: 1. Cancellations made 30 days prior to the departure date of an excursion or special event will qualify for a full refund, unless otherwise specified. 2. Cancellations made after the 30 day refund deadline are not refundable. However, if an excursion or event has sold out and there is a wait list, the Recreation Department may issue a refund if the ticket can be resold from the wait list. For theater excursions, please let staff know at the time of sign up if you would like to sit next to a specific person. For casino trips, residents must provide addresses for their guests. Passengers need to be in good physical health, able to board and re-board a motorcoach bus (several times if needed), walk up and down a flight of stairs and be able to walk reasonable distances. Passengers should know their own limitations before signing up for some trips* ON A TRIAL BASIS, YOUR NUMBER FOR LOADING ON THE BUS WILL BE DETERMINED BY WHEN YOU BOUGHT YOUR TICKET. FIRST ONE TO BUY A TICKET WILL BE NUMBER 1 TO LOAD THE BUS. EXCURSIONS EXCURSION SIGN UPS: TUES., SEPT. 3, AT 8 AM If you are looking for enjoyment, friendships, new places to see, or just to get out for the day, try coming along for one of the many day trips that the Recreation Department has to offer. We travel to Museums, Casinos, Live Theater, Symphonies, Gardens, Concerts and we also offer a few multiple day trips throughout the year. Some trips will offer lunches or dinners that are included in the price. Flyers can be found in the Main Clubhouse Lobby or call the Recreation Department for more information on the fabulous day trips and special events. Excursion reminder S/O = Sold Out (wait list avail.): Yellow = Still Available Getty Center 9/4 Pechanga 9/19 Griffith Observatory 9/25 San Francisco 10/1 Miss Saigon 10/13 Veterans Museum at Balboa Park 10/16 Overnight on Catalina 11/13 EXCURSION SIGN-UPS: All new excursions are not released for sign-up until the FIRST DAY OF THE MONTH BEGINNING AT 8 AM. If the 1st falls on a Saturday or Sunday then sign-ups will begin on the following Monday. If a holiday falls on the first day of the month, sign-ups will begin the next day. WAITING LIST POLICY: The waiting list is created by the Rec. Dept. for sold out events/excursions. This list is used (in order of registration) when the attendee has to cancel due to illness, doctor's appointment, etc. The waiting list is not used for additional sign-ups for secondary excursions that are scheduled due to their popularity. Contact the Rec. Dept. if you have any questions about either of these two policies. WE ACCEPT CHECKS ONLY. You can register up to 4 people (including yourself ) per check per household, payable to Sun Lakes Country Club. All Recreation Classes, Excursions and Special Events are open to residents only, unless otherwise specified. We may open Excursions and Special Events to guests if numbers are low and the activity is in danger of being canceled. - Thank you! Departs Oct. 1 at 6 am, returns Oct. 5, at 7 pm; $960 pp double, $1,610 pp single. Due to safety issues at national parks, no walkers or wheelchairs. Join us on a fun journey as we head north to beautiful San Francisco, California. Day 1 - After a continental breakfast we will head out to San Francisco, upon arrival we will check in to the Holiday Inn Express, Fisherman's Wharf. Day 2 - will bring adventure as we head over to Alcatraz for a tour filled with stories of the infamous island. Afterwards, you will enjoy a step on guide tour of the City and capture all of the beautiful sights and sounds of San Francisco. Day 3 - you will enjoy time at the Cable Car Museum, the museum houses a collection of historic cable cars, photographs, and mechanical displays! You will learn about the inventor, technologies, and builders, and the on- going effort to save and rebuild the cable cars of San Francisco. After the cable car museum, we will make our way to Hyde Park Pier (Maritime Museum) for time on your own to explore San Francisco your way! Day 4 - Tour Golden Gate Park Academy of Science, featuring the museum's four-story rain forest, planetarium (show included) and aquarium, and enjoy lunch on your own. After lunch we will drive a short distance across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito's Marine Mammal Center where we will take a tour of the facilities, heading back for wine tasting and a farewell dinner at Tarantino's with sweeping views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Day 5 - The adventure doesn't end there, on the last day we will enjoy breakfast then head home with the great memories of San Francisco, and we will stop at Harris Ranch for lunch (included). San Francisco City Tour Pechanga Wed., Nov. 6, 9:30 am – 5:30 pm, $5 pp. Spend a five-hour stay at Pechanga resort and Casino. A vast 200,000 square foot gaming floor makes Pechanga California's biggest casino. Designed with player comfort in mind, the casino is equipped with a state-of-the-art air filtration system and offers extensive non-smoking areas. The casino's well- planned layout allows guests to move easily among more than 3,000+ slot and video machines as well as over 130+ table games. Cocktail service is available to guests on the gaming floor and several bars, lounges and restaurants can be found close to the casino action. Dining options abound at Pechanga including quick service Mexican, Italian, Asian and American food court choices.
