The September monthly meeting is scheduled
for Tues., Sept. 10, at 7 pm in the Mykonos Room
in the Clubhouse. At the September meeting,
we will share information about tackle and tips
in preparation for the upcoming Sept. 12-13
overnight fishing trip. All members and guests
are invited to attend this or any regular monthly
meetings that are held the second Tuesday of
the month in the Mykonos Room. In addition,
we will share the nominating committee report
for the officers for the 2020 year and take
nominations from the floor, before electing the
officers for next year.
The club is looking forward to the overnight
off-shore trip of the year scheduled for Sept. 12-
13 on the Voyager in anticipation of catching
Bluefin, Yellowtail Tuna, and Dorado. The trip
currently has two spaces left, so if you want to
go, sign up at the front desk, put in your check
and pick a bunk. If you have any questions
concerning the fishing trips or about the club,
feel free to call President Jim Chapman, or
Charter Master Rollin Grider.
The July 14-16, 1.5-day trip on the Voyager
with 16 anglers on board was a trip off-shore
trip to the Coronado Island was a great trip,
catching limits of quality Yellowtail for everyone
on board. Many of the fish were caught on yoyo
iron on the bottom and it was exciting, but
tiring. The jackpot was won by Gloria Whitman
on her birthday with a 20-pound Yellowtail.
On Sunday evening Aug. 25, the annual
summer BBQ was a great success. Everyone
had a good time, eating great fish and delicious
Cajun food, enjoying the music and dancing by
the Bayou Brother Band. Thanks to Tom Roy
for chairing this outstanding event, and entire
committee for their hard work to make this one
of the best events of year in the village.
