"With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning!" Kindness Recognition – In a world where you can be anything – be kind! Many at Four Seasons are reaping the efforts of our talented handyman, Tim Gross. Team Sunshine would like to recognize Tim for his special service to our team. On many occasions, Tim has assisted the medical equipment team with lifting and placing medical equipment in storage. We do not believe that this is part of his job description, but he joyfully becomes the "back and arms" of the equipment team. If he sees us struggling to haul equipment inside, he quickly comes to the rescue. Just recently, Tim was asked if he could assist with adding special brackets to the large gold frames which hold our Celebration of Life pics and bios. We purchased the brackets and Tim installed them, even adding a special touch by extra cushioning material as well as painting the back panel. Our Team Sunshine August Kindness award goes to Tim Gross, Handyman Extraordinaire. Thank you for your kindness to us and many others. Please be reminded of "Kindness" recognition. Kindness is one of the most important gestures we can extend to one another. We are hoping that we will all take time to think before we act. You can pick up a "Kindness" card at the front desk. If you observe someone who has put forth a special effort to be kind, helping, or caring, simply obtain a card from the front desk. Please include the person's name and a comment why you are recommending this individual for kindness recognition. Celebrations of Life/Memorials: We were saddened to learn of the passing of Anthony Costa. Our condolences go to Delores and the Costa family. "What is it about tears we are afraid of? It is human to cry. Crying helps you to heal. Cry with friends, family and alone. Don't be surprised when the grief "freight train" runs over you. Just be in the moment, and it will pass. Struggle through your emotions and you will find relief as your reward." This advice is often given to family members as we meet with them. Some don't want you to see their "broken hearts" but we say that "you never have to apologize for tears." We would like to share with you some of those wonderful Sunshiners who make the celebrations happen. It takes many volunteers to put the celebration together and it is done with willing hands. We offer just a few pictures of the teams that help in their special way. A special request to the community. If you know of a resident in your neighborhood who has suffered a loss, please ensure that Team Sunshine is alerted. The services we provide are many. A card and a loving and caring phone call can make a big difference. So often these folks suffer this grief alone. We are here to provide some support that lets them know "we care." Thank you. Programs: On Thurs., July 18, a presentation entitled "Best Practices for Keeping You Out of the Hospital" by Dr. Curtis Combs was well received. There are no plans for an August or September program meeting. Resource Meeting Reminder: A Caregiver Support Group meets the first Tuesday of each month from 10:30 to 11:30 am at 8190 Parry Drive in Four Seasons. Please join us for this very interesting and informative dialogue on "helps" when you are caring for a loved one in your home. Thank you. Team Sunshine Information: Please fill out a *NEEDS* Form at the Lodge front desk if you know of someone who has recently lost a loved one. This form can also be used for various kinds of needs assistance. In case you prefer not to call but would like us to know of a need, this form will record your concern and will be passed on to the appropriate Team Sunshiner. Medical Equipment: We do have donated/used medical equipment that we deliver and pick up from residents. Residents who request medical equipment are required to sign a waiver form. Return of medical equipment is requested by contacting Jeanne Lincoln (765-7112). We have enlarged the medical equipment team to include: Rose Harvey, Donna Morrell and Patty Jones. In Team Sunshine, no one "gets the job done alone." Our Prayer Warriors: Marietta Ruppaner conducts a prayer circle once a month to pray for our residents in need. All are welcome to attend the prayer circle. Just give Marietta a call and she'll give you the date, time and place. Also, if you have a prayer request, get in touch with Marietta or place your prayer request in the Prayer Box in the MPR. We are thankful for the service they give to our community. Closing Thoughts: "Don't let yesterday take up too much of today." ~ Will Rogers 22 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | SEPTEMBER 2019 | Team Sunshine Some of our wonderful Sunshiners who make celebrations happen
