To enter the contest, participants must be attending the Oktoberfest Fair on Sept. 28 and fill out an entry form available at the Lodge Front Desk. 2. The contest is intended for amateur bakers only. Pro/semi pro- bakers are not eligible for participation. 3. Only one entry per person and the contestant must be the baker. 4. All strudels MUST NOT require refrigeration… no dairy or creams permitted. 5. Each strudel should be made from scratch, no box mix, prepared filling or pre-made strudel dough permitted. Each strudel must include a serving utensil and cover. Strudel should be 13-15 inches in length. 6. All strudels must be submitted with your name and recipe name on a 3" x 5" card. Kindly bring your strudel to the Ballroom from 3 to 3:30 pm on Sept. 28. 7. There is no entry fee to participate in the contest 8. The top 10 strudels will be considered for judging based on appearance and authenticity. 9. Judging Criteria: • Overall appearance • Pastry color, flavor, texture and doneness • Filling consistency, doneness and texture • Overall taste Scoring: • Each judge will independently assign a rating from one to five for each criteria • The strudel with the highest number of points will win • In case of a tie, those strudels will be judged again 10. The decision of the judges is final. Judges will not know contestants names 11. All contestants must pick up strudels after awards presentation. 12.
