Bistro Committee Social Committee We have been working hard to bring some fun and entertaining events to our Four Seasons residents. At this writing, the Mardi Gras dinner/dance had not taken place so I will have to wait until next month to report on the event. In June, we are planning our Annual Fashion Show and Tea… always a sellout. This year, we have nine resident models to showcase the clothes from Chico's. We will also have Rochelle Holt and Sharon Cox doing wigs. Lunch will be served at 12 pm with the fashion show starting at 1 pm. Mark your calendars for this favorite event. Tickets are $18 pp and go on sale April 16 with the last day to buy tickets May 25. 18 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2013 | community News The Bistro Committee met on Tuesday, Feb. 26. The refrigeration upgrade to the kitchen has been completed. Work is still in progress on the chairs. Bids are being received for replacement of the dishwasher and the garbage disposal. The Bistro received an "A" from the county again during the county health inspection. The "Dessert Meet and Greet" on Feb. 26, was attended by approximately 50 new homeowners. The next meeting is April 30, at 11 am, in the Lodge Conference Room. All homeowners are invited to attend. ~ William Taylor The next event we are looking forward to is the Family Feud Game show. This will be the first time for an event of this type and we think it will be a great change to our usual events. The tickets are $15 pp and will include the show, snacks and coffee, water and punch. You can either buy a table for eight and bring your own team, or individuals can buy tickets and be placed at a random table. Either way, I think you're in for a good time. A new event that we are planning is Candid Camera. The show is hosted by Peter Funt, son of the original host, Allen Funt. We are hoping to bring this to you in August for $10 per ticket. They are down almost 50 percent from last year, helped by a 40 percent increase in rainfall for the two months. Our rainfall is still only 31 percent of our average for January and February. We are now experiencing a three year winter drought. The water bills through February are 40 percent lower than in 2012. Again, this is good news since we experienced rate increases last year in addition to acquiring new areas to be watered. The cold weather did take a toll on the irrigation system and some of our savings are being consumed by repairs. We are also investing in measures to reduce future damage from cold temperatures. We will be removing plants from the water fountain in the Lodge courtyard. The cement bowls lack drainage holes and the spray from the fountain of chlorinated water provides a hostile environment for plant life. The Ad Hoc Water Management Committee meets the first Monday of the month. ~ Len Tavernetti Community News | FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2013 19
