We had fun presenting our sample live radio show for the Christmas program and had so many positive comments! So we've decided to do a full performance radio program in April. We will present a couple of episodes of the radio programs that ran in the 40s and 50s. Save the date: April 5, 6 pm. Come on out and let's relive some fun memories… "at the studios of WFS radio!" ~ Tom Shelley Four Season Singers We have started rehearsals for the upcoming Fourth of July Show and for December's Holiday Show. We are working hard, but having fun! As always, you can contact me at (951) 797-3466 or email me at bawasco@dc.rr.com. ~ Barbara Wasco Classical Music Club Do you have an interest in starting a classical music club? Not just listening to classical music and going to concerts, but talking about the music and the composers who created it. If so, contact Steve Benoff via email at steve.benoff@ verizon.net, or call (310) 413-4896. ~ Steve Benoff NEW CLUB! Counter Culture Cinema Are you tired of big, bloated, noisy effects-laden movies like "Transformers?" Are you tired of movies made for teenagers about vampires and comic book heroes? Are you tired of popcorn fare starring aging action adventure heroes? Then the Counter Culture Cinema Club (our motto, "We're not afraid of subtitles!") is just the thing for you! If you like small films, indie films, foreign films, alternative films, festival circuit films and other films made for adults, then we invite you to join us for screenings of these types of films, with stimulating discussion afterwards. We plan to show a film on the second Sunday of each month, followed by a discussion of the film. Join us for our premiere screening of "Le Havre" (2011, English subtitles). When an African boy arrives by cargo ship in the port city of Le Havre, an aging shoe shiner takes pity on the child and welcomes him into his home. Our screening of "Le Havre" will take place in the Lodge's movie theatre at 6 pm on Sunday, April 14. Our theatre has very limited seating, so if you're interested in seeing this film, come early. We hope to see you there! ~ Micki Rosen Amphitheater Club The five musical events chosen for the upcoming Amphitheater are set and ready to go. However, we cannot announce our entertainers until we receive the Board of Director's approval for these talented performers. Since the April issue of the Breeze goes to print prior to the monthly Board meeting we must ask you to watch for a Lodge flyer giving the details of the actual line-up. Until then here are a few hints: "We hope to WALK THE LINE as we ESCAPE the summers heat with a BRITISH BEAT and finally end up SWING DANCING our way to a ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH." Mark the dates: May 19, June 23, July 21, Aug.18, Sept.15 at 7 pm. ~ Penny McDonell Leah L.
