Manager's Update At the Open Session Board meeting held on Thursday, March 14 the Board of Directors approved the following committee recommendations: • Event Systems proposal for a fund raising concert. • Landscape proposal to install a water saving device to regulate sprinkler usage (free demonstration). • Landscape revised proposal to purchase back flow device covers (cost $2,910). • Rules/Regulations proposal for a rule review for Use of Common Area for Campaign purposes. • Safety/Facilities proposal to install 4 additional handicap parking spaces ($2,121). • Safety/Facilities proposal to install a separate HVAC zone for the Craft Room ($2,988). • The Board of Directors reviewed and acted upon the following business matters: • February 2013 minutes – approved. • January 2013 Financial statement – approved. • Ratified members for the Ad Hoc Recreation Center North Development Committee. • Approved the Appreciation Brunch for Association volunteers ($795). • Approved the no cost HOA event from the Valley Symphonic Orchestra for a concert performance • Approved the Community Club Fair ($250) • Approved the 2013 Amphitheater Production Group concert Series ($4210) • Approved the cost to increase the Fidelity Bond coverage for the Springdale insurance policy ($55) • Approved the appointment of the Inspectors of Election • Approved the 2012 Audit and Tax reports • Approved the paver stone cleaning for the roundabout and gate area pavers ($3093) • Approved the Travel Expo • Approved the application for the Counter Culture Cinema Group • Approved the use of the theater by the Counter Culture Cinema Group • Approved waiving the facility use fee for the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce for the State of the City event • Approved the exoneration of Builder start up and assessment bonds for designated phases Management reported to the Board the completion of the following items: • Gatehouse veneer repairs • Smart watering demonstration system installed 8 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2013 | community News By Lisa Lynn, General Manager • Turf expansion near basketball court • Aerobics room AC unit upgraded • Phase C wrought iron fence painting • Springdale fidelity bond increased Management reported that eight violation letters were sent out during February: • Two for architectural items • Five for maintenance • One for hoses The Board of Directors suspended facility privileges for one member for delinquent dues, bringing the total for suspended privileges to nine current members. There were 27 accounts with balances over 90 days past due. The Board meeting is held on the second Thursday of the month, with the Executive Session at 9 am in the Lodge Conference room and the Open Session at 1 pm in the Lodge Ballroom. With the change in the season, please be aware that rattlesnakes have been spotted in the community. Please be considerate of using the guest parking area in the Monarch and Springdale areas. These areas should not be used for storing vehicles that are not driven on a regular basis. Please turn in your ballot for the Board of Directors election prior to Tuesday, April 16. The Inspectors of Election would appreciate it if you do not completely seal the white envelope since it is difficult to open when fully sealed. Any ideas for Sales Office? We need your input regarding ideas for the old Sales Office (or Recreation Center North, as it's actually called). There is a wooden suggestion box on the front Lobby table for you to place your ideas. Be a part of the transformation! Pool/Spa Pool Guidelines The Lodge swimming pool opened March 31. As a reminder, here are the rules for its use: 1. No Lifeguard on duty! Use Pool and Spa Pool at your own risk. 2. Use of pool facilities and property is a privilege which is enjoyed by all owners or occupants, however, consideration of others concerning noise is also important. This privilege may be restricted or revoked at anytime when in the judgment of the board or management policies are not being adhered to. 3. An individual 18 years of age or older is considered an adult. Notwithstanding any other guideline, guests must be accompanied by a Four Seasons at Beaumont Adult Resident at all times. 4. There must be at least one adult resident or other adult to accompany and supervise each group of three or less children at all times within the confines of the pool and spa pool area. The responsible resident or adult must be capable of rendering emergency assistance to the child should the need arise. 5. Children (under 14 years of age) are not permitted in the spa pool. 6. Conduct by an owner or occupant who deprives any other oiwner or occupant their quiet enjoyment of the use of the pool/spa pool or property shall not be allowed, and will result in their expulsion from the area. 7. Hours: The pool and spa pool areas are available from opening until closing hours of the Lodge, unless otherwise communicated and posted. From the opening hour of the Lodge until 1 pm and from 4 pm until the closing hour of the Lodge are designated "quiet" times in the pool and spa pool areas. During quiet times, only lap swimming, floating, organized swim classes and other 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. 16. 17. 18. 19. 20. 21. non-boisterous activity is permitted in the pool and spa pool areas. Talking is to be kept at a conversational level. Only stationary activity is permitted in the spa pool. No swimming, splashing or like activity will be permitted in the spa pool. Soap, bath oils, etc. are prohibited in the pool or spa pool. Diving is not permitted. Running, pushing or boisterous play will not be permitted. No glassware is permitted in the pool area. Incontinent individuals of any kind are prohibited from going into the pool or spa pool. Pets (dogs, cats, etc.) are prohibited in the pool and spa pool areas. Radio/stereo permitted with headphones only so as not to annoy other persons using the recreation facility or living in surrounding residences. Frisbees, toys and balls are prohibited in the pool/spa pool/barbecue areas. Surfboards, rafts and large flotation devices that obstruct the view of the water are prohibited in the pool and spa pool. Noodle tubes are permitted. Foam kick boards no larger than 12" x 24" x 2" used to aid swimming are permissible except between 1 pm and 4 pm. The pool-spa pool areas are not reserved areas and all guest policies are in effect. Swim attire must be worn in the pool and spa pool. Black rubber fins are not permitted in the pool area. Bathers must dry off before leaving pool area. Any individual(s) who violates any of the above guidelines of conduct/decorum will be asked to leave the Facility.
